S4 to s5 Conversion??

I know there is a couple of westsider riders :uzi: who have done a conversion.
Need some quick feedback.
Is there any difference between s5 vert and coupe front, rear bumpers and moldings. My friend is thinking of doing a s4 to s5 conversion (only exterior) on his coupe. He can get some vert bumpers and moldings for free.(the guy want the front s4 bumper though)
So my friend doesn't want to end up with a bumper-less car and bumpers he can't use.
They should work right????
Will he need the bumper supports or just the covers?
He will also be adding fog lights later so getting the s5 support would be best since it has places for the lights or are the supports on s4 and s5 the same?
I did search but didn't find any thing useful.

thanks in advance.

Maczpayne did the conversion already and knows all about it.

Seriously, if you want to be unique and cool, swap it to s1.

your going to need front and side turn signals, rear running lights, quite a bit of double sided tape or a hot glue gun for the moldings.

Battle Cat 12-19-09 05:16 PM

s4 all the way

LaMuerte 12-19-09 07:11 PM

He already has s5 tails on it, so he has already sinned.
I've seen maczpayne's car on here and at sevenstock and it looked really good.

Did maczpayne try to put fogs on a s4 support and end up needing a s5 support?

iLikeEatPoo 12-19-09 07:18 PM

I have a S5 front bumper support laying around if you want it.

LaMuerte 12-20-09 08:27 PM

If you don't need it, I'll take it off your hands.

Yeah. only thing is it's located in SD lol.

I was in your situation a while back. I had a stock s4. stock everything, stock looks. I was contemplating wether or not to go s5 or just stay s4, but one day i picked up a s5 bumper for free and then i got free s5 t2 replica sideskirts, so i ordered a corksport mazdaspeed replica lip. looked alot better than the s4 bodystyle in my opinion and alot others.

so here's this look

and then, I got to a point where i didn't like this look and i'm in the drift scene so i went with this about a month ago.

My car's has the appearance goodies of a s5 with the reliability of a s4 :icon_tup:, plus it just looks sexy :egrin::nod:

let's just call this.... motivation?

DR_Knight 12-21-09 10:52 AM

use a s5 front bumper support because it's predrilled for the fog lights. this way they'll be aligned when you put them on. :icon_tup:.

My car doesn't need foglights :) I use the openings to cool the brakes

they're mb weapons. 17x9+17 all around. wish i got 17x9+7 for the rears though. but the fitment's awesome. and at least they're not the worst replica wheels. :icon_tup:

yeah foglights aren't necessary but they do add a nice touch to a FC at night time. but yeah i'd agree use the space for some brake ducting. :icon_tup:
