Who planning on going the March 28th-29th Redline Time Attack season opener at Buttonwillow?

I plan on competing in the RWD Street class - Car #95. Will be trailering the car from Portland Oregon.

See you guys there!

Andrew. 01-06-09 08:15 PM

I'll be competing in RWD street class in my FD.

afgmoto1978 01-08-09 11:57 AM

Is that it?!

Andrew. 01-08-09 02:29 PM

Yeah, pretty much. Most people here would rather do mad-tyte canyon runs

Not all of us can afford track days.

GHEEZ!

Michael Knight 01-09-09 12:20 PM

I might try street class. I'm finally prepped for road course.....I hope. How much is it?? Can't seem to find pricing.
Thanks

MaczPayne 01-09-09 02:17 PM

Also interested... I might get my ass handed to me, but it'll be a good lesson nonetheless!

Damn, Rule 2.1.5 might put me down. I don't have a catalytic converter on my car.

It's going to probably be ~$180 or so. I'd say you're better off going to a normal trackday, since it's cheaper.

Yeah, you'll be stuck in modified class.

afgmoto1978 01-09-09 07:05 PM

It will be around $180 - $250 for Street Class, a bit more for Mod and Pro, but they win money if they win their respective class.

It will be a perfect gauge for how competitive you and car are against similar cars. You will either do well or have a very humbling experience.

I was hoping John Magnuson would go, but he's doing the Chihuahua Express event.

Anyways spread the word to whomever does do track days. More FDs and FCS the better.

FortyFiveD 01-09-09 07:21 PM

I'll try to go hopefully I can do the work to the car that needs to be done before march.

MaczPayne 01-09-09 11:01 PM

I'm gonna wait till I graduate before jumping into this. I should be able to support a new expensive habit once I get out!

thetech 01-12-09 02:16 AM

I'll probably be there going for Unlimited RWD glory...

Andrew. 01-12-09 02:19 AM

...

afgmoto1978 01-19-09 10:46 AM

Anybody else??

John Magnuson 01-20-09 03:09 AM

Have fun guys! I won the street class overall in my FD a few years back when the competition was a lot less intense. It's pretty competitive now.

Wish I could go again... but I'll be having a blast going down the Mexican highways at 180mph :)

Maybe I'll hit an event later in the year.... I have a unlimited class FD in the works... but it may be a while before that is done.

Andrew. 01-20-09 03:06 PM

What was your setup (suspension, brakes, power) when you won in your FD, John? And the lap time :) I'm guessing in the 2.0x.xx range...

The current FD street tire record is a 2:04.xx and the R-comp record is a 2:01.xx, IIRC.

The fastest street tire car right now is a Supra on Neova's, it ran a 1.57.71

Spirit Rx-7 01-21-09 04:54 PM

woah, neovas ftw!

HotRodMex 01-21-09 06:23 PM

I'll probably be doing the Speed Ventures track day that Friday, then staying Sat and maybe Sunday to spectate the time attack.

afgmoto1978 01-22-09 10:17 AM

Saturday is a track day as well.

KeloidJonesJr. 01-22-09 02:38 PM

Just give me yore R6 and we'll call it a day.

scotty305 01-22-09 10:11 PM

Won't be bringing my car (not prepped to that level yet) but I wouldn't mind crewing for someone if they'd like an extra set of hands in the pits. PM me if interested.

I might hit you up depending on how many guys come with me from Oregon.
