Looks nice :)
|
I've seen this in person. Pictures simply do not do justice.
|
Badass!!!
|
Very high-end race setup you've got there RB. Like the way the ducting mates with the hood slats.
There's enough heat exchanger area to start a damn nuclear plant. |
Lmao

very nice! pic of the front bumper shot

Here are some more pictures of the setup I built for Robert.
Clean slate, where everything started. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a61...t/DSC00561.jpg In order to fit some 3" charge piping cleanly and with the shortest path I sectioned out about 4 inches from the power steering bracket. I removed the a/c too since this is a race car after all. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a61...t/DSC00567.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a61...t/DSC00565.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a61...t/DSC00564.jpg I got a 24"x10"x3.5" Spearco core for the intercooler, it's rated at 900hp efficient at .5psi pressure drop. Robert was a bit worried about this but now he makes more boost, spools quicker, and has lower intake air temps than with is old HKS front mount. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a61...t/DSC00568.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a61...t/DSC00569.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a61...t/DSC00573.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a61...t/DSC00576.jpg I built a flange for his Greddy Bov, and had to modify his Greddy throttle body adapter to take 3" tube and added 2 -4 an bungs for his wastegate line and a vacuum line. Pretty much everything is AN now except the radiator lines. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a61...t/DSC00571.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a61...t/DSC00570.jpg For the radiator I built aluminum lines that go almost all the way up to the motor. They are all mandrel bend 1.5" aluminum. I had to make tabs to hold his fan in too and seal off the holes he had cut in the shroud before. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a61...t/DSC00563.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a61...t/DSC00574.jpg |
I built an air box for his filter and had to build a surge tank in order to fill the radiator and separate the air out since the radiator was low now. I had to modify the upper water neck to, so I cut it apart and turned it 90 degrees and added a bung for his temp sender and a -6 AN bung for the surge tank.
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a61...t/DSC00578.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a61...t/DSC00581.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a61...t/DSC00577.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a61...t/DSC00583.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a61...t/DSC00584.jpg The air box uses Dzus fasteners so it's really easy to take the lid off and clean the filter or pull it off. The setup seems to work really well, but I won't know for sure until he takes it out to the tracks and really beats on it. If anyone needs anything fabricated or welded just shoot me a pm. Anthony |

looks awesome!
|
its about time you went v-mount. let me know how much cooler your car runs.
|
I will do...
|
Good stuff gents... I gotta say, I really enjoy being friends with guys who aren't afraid of fab or pushing it a bit on the technology front (regardless of what's under the hood).
Only feedback off-hand would be adding a grommet at the intake box to avoid wear and welding brace in between the two radiator hard lines (that's a long run to be unsupported and aluminum has no stress endurance limit relative to fatigue life.) If this looks amazing now, I really can't wait to see it all polished... |
