Well the real JDM is that you don't go up the mountains until you are initiated and approved by the veterians or accompanied by the them, and if you fuck up or are stupid you get your ass kicked out. Sounds too OG but it really make sense. If everyone is good at going fast then there would be not problems and crashes. But hey we are in America and your local community college kid will take daddy's money to buy a new STI or over priced RWD cars and think he is on a race track when he sees other toogay friends. I guess everyone just want to be the biggest fish in the pond but don't realize there is an ocean.

I used to live in Lake Elsinore (smell some more) and commuted to Irvine everyday over the infamous Ortega Hwy (78). So many accidents caused by ignorance and lack of common sense. Only when it involves a 'ricer' or bike does it become a big story but in reality, it's the men and women with a cell phone in the ear not paying attention, going over the double line. Freight trucks cutting corners. "Ricers" trying to pass people in blind corners on a Sunday morning. Although I no longer drift Ortega, usually a friend would radio from ahead and let me know a certain section of road was clear....and this was at 2am. ~ cheers |
I think fast driving on mountain roads in Japan is like Autobahn in Germany, Americans can never handle it and will always fuck it up. I was in Japan a few years ago and Japanese people drive fast and can handle it just fine. Auto hobbiests in Japan and Europe are more skilled and have way less ego, but in U.S. as long as we can afford it then we think we deserve it. Can you imagine the insanity if we have Autobahn here in a hi traffic area? Well I think it is the same with all this touge shit that is happening.

Sorry Needfd, I crashed there as well. ;)
oomg....how do you retards go off on tangents and then fight about it?? ADD-having-rotards.......i hate the cock-sucking drifters who ruin nice weekend road trips for us.
I was there as well approximately 2 weeks ago. The cops set up a road block and "FBI" agents were checking under the hoods of several modified cars. They said it was to curb street racing as many people have been crashing there

$2K fine for every removed cat i think
Oh how great... no more "Oh I am bored, let's go for a drive" road anymore.
thats gay, i was going to go there this week since i just fixed my car...
I use to ride up 9 to Alices and 4 corners. I even took the 7 there a few times. I guess I wont anymore. That really blows. We all might as well sell our cars or keep em on a trailer.
too bad about 9 but no need to worry too much. there are still tons of roads up there. just today i went down 1 to 92,rode up skyline to alices and back. ive been driving up there for 3 years have seen cops only twice. the key is not to go up there on the weekends and holidays. and when the touge ricers come up to you, just pull over and let em pass. oh and something the ricers have a problem with ALWAYS STAY ON YOUR SIDE OF THE ROAD, NEVER CROSS THE CENTERLINE.
^^^^ yeah.......the SC backroads are great too..........but man I hate these ricers.

Highway 9 was a fun run when i had my FC... i didnt go there much, i stuck with Calaveras wich was my favorite... i prefer grip over drift... there's always other mountain runs like palmeras and Niles...
When i bought my FD i took a visit up to Calaveras and saw a bunch of Hondas and Integs and even a fucking muscle car... i dont know much about FWD's and muscle on mountain runs, but i heard they suck and every single one mugged me and revved at me... especially that mustang... Personally.... i think it was that goddamn Fast and the Furioues Tokyo Drift Bullcrap!!! :madfawk: |
So every single one of you say that you have never pushed yourself to your limits on a mountain road before? So you never pushed yourself in your car that you love so much and modify? Please!!! If you have never pushed youself on a mountain pass, or A TOUGE. (Hey, it is an actual word in another language!) YOU DONT DESERVE AN RX-7!!!! & YOU DONT LOVE YOR CAR

It's a mountain pass, not a track, leave "pushing the limits" to the track, while driving over the mountains there's people coming the other way, there's debris on the road and the road condition changes with the weather (cracks on the road etc). Touge is definitely a word in another language like baka(you) and ksobaba(you) but that's just a ricer's term, JDM y0!! i'm toyte cause i Know JdM maiIng! So in order to love your car you must beat it up and drive it recklessly? You just push the limits of your car on roads you don't know and then learn only when you crash? Get real, and stop watching FnF |
