Got a ticket in the FD.

So tonight,
I was driving the FD, and long story short I got a ticket for a Mod'd Exhaust. He made it correctable. So does this mean I can just pay the fee or w/e, and not have to change it? Or does it for sure have to get changed/signed off? Thanks for the help guys.

iLikeEatPoo 05-10-08 11:08 AM

ticket for sound or no cats or what?

KeloidJonesJr. 05-10-08 03:58 PM

It means you must piide in your quest for corrections.

laserkei 05-10-08 05:39 PM

Ya, more details please. What is the vc the cop wrote?

RotaryXplosion7 05-10-08 05:58 PM

I got a modified exhaust ticket on the miata long time ago.. i paid it off was $120-

DriftDreamzSS 05-10-08 06:24 PM

If its correctable you should be able to have it signed and pay $10. Or dont do anything and pay $137 or something like that.

RX7LINK 05-10-08 07:05 PM

exhaust ticket hasn't been correctable in CA for years. that cop probably didn't know. but once u go to court, they'll have u pay $140+ w/out checking your car.

and if he wrote u up for "emmissions modified", be ready to pay a $400+ ticket

teddyrx2 05-10-08 08:37 PM

fix the modded exhaust get signed off and pay the $10 bucks...jesus christ

Supastar Bruce 05-10-08 09:10 PM

Yes, He gave me a "27151VC Modified Exhaust" is what the ticket says. He told me that it was correctable and checked the box that says "correctable". I got let off easy, he said I was doing about 85 in a 45.

P.S. I would change it, and just get it signed off, but having another exhaust made might be more then just paying for it, and not doing anything to the FD lol.

That's a nice taillight cover.

DJDINO 05-11-08 12:31 PM

Sell that POS already and you'll stop getting tickets.

gotboost920 05-11-08 12:35 PM

frame

i am curious what your license frame means. i was told that its associated with law enforcement. the kma is the "group" and the los angeles is the region of that association.

Yep, it helps you not get tickets. But after getting pwn'd for doing 85, I got lucky for only getting a exhaust ticket.

afawaterpolo 05-11-08 08:09 PM

In regards to gotboost920's question about the license plate frame.

KMA-367 was the official Federal Communications Commission (FCC) callsign for Los Angeles Police Department radio transmitters from 1948 through the 1980s. Those driving around with these license plate holders are associated with the LAPD. Less frequently seen, license holders displaying KMA-628 are associated with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

DJDINO 05-11-08 08:18 PM

With that Jet Exhaust system, no license plate holder bearing association with any law enforcement would deter one from being cited.

^I guess. But sometimes style hurts, and you just gotta take it in the ass to be stylish lol.

Battle Cat 05-11-08 09:32 PM

wow!

Miata_mx5 05-11-08 09:35 PM

Sorry to burst your bubble, it is not all that stylish.

Its not VIP or LUX, nor is it Bosozoku. It is just somewhere in between, and does not fit in either category.

None of the BN Sports, 326 Power, Super-Made, or Burnout cars have such kind of exhaust. It is not as big as the bozo exhausts either....

Don't you think that is what makes it stylish....?

The fact that it doesn't fix into category....

SERIES7 05-12-08 12:28 AM

please let me know if you need a stock FD middle cat, the one that goes after the down pipe. K, thanks

btw, Gotboost920, what the F is up dude?!?!?! It's been a long time! Hit me up on PM.

It just feels the car has somewhat of an identity crisis. The wheel fitment is that of a 2 door/Vip car, but the aero and body parts are mostly track parts, and it needs to be 1 1/2 in lower. This is no way intented as a slam. But, that is just the way i feel about it.

The word stylish, to me, implies that it is trying to follow some kind of style, w/e it may be.

or similar device.

27151. (a) No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor
vehicle in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise emitted
by the motor of the vehicle so that the vehicle is not in compliance
with the provisions of Section 27150 or exceeds the noise limits
established for the type of vehicle in Article 2.5 (commencing with
Section 27200). No person shall operate a motor vehicle with an
exhaust system so modified.
(b) For the purposes of exhaust systems installed on motor

less, when tested in accordance with Society of Automotive Engineers
Standard J1169 May 1998, complies with this section. Motor vehicle
exhaust systems or parts thereof include, but are not limited to,
nonoriginal exhaust equipment.

basically it is ok if you are below 95db. He's trying to trick you. There was a SB that was passed to make it even more clear that this is the case, but I cannot find it and I'll bet they don't want you to know about it.

how wide and what offset are you running on those wheels?

ReZ311 05-13-08 04:34 PM

At least you didn't get a ticket doing 105 in Vegas.
What's up with those tips? Haha.
