So I live in Davis and I need help installing a dp. I only shops I trust around here will not do it for me because it removes the precat.

So yeah, I have tools, jack, jackstand...and pizza and beer. Any help would be appreciated, so hit me up.

thanks!

I'd be glad to help, thing is I have no Idea how to install a downpipe.

Well, i dont mind doing it myself, I just wish I had a lift of some sort so I can actually see the stuff under my car. I tried the DP install the other week, and failed cuz I was feeling around for screws and stuff so I just gave up. Perhaps I need higher jackstands

It's pretty simple once you get started. Once you pull out all the heat sheilds it's pretty self explanatory from there. A standard 3-ton floor jack is more than enough. Just jack up the car righ behind the passenger front tire and support with a jack stand. Trust me! start removing the heat sheilds then take another look. Good luck, Dan

Oh yeah...and be carefull of the DP studs in the manifold, They tend to "break off". If that happens, do a search on "broken studs"

kraked 08-26-05 07:18 PM

Yeah i did look around the forums, and im aware of the studs breaking. Also, dp install didnt seem too bad til i looked under there and couldnt see anything.

I'm already stocked with some pb blaster and I shall try it out next week sometime. Help is still appreciated tho, if anyone wants to come out to davis. If you dont like pizza, we can make it sushi and beer.

i could probably fit you in if you want to bring it up to marysville to install it, would be $40 for the install.

drop me a PM if you are interested.

kraked 08-26-05 09:07 PM

$40 sounds good, pizza and beer will still be provided.

I know it's a drive, but if you want to come out to the south bay area I'd gladly help you out with your install.

I do have all the tools! I may have to get new jack stands, maybe ones that go higher.

Thanks for all the reply guys! My car is still at mazda plus (sacramento) and I expect to get it back today or tomorrow afternoon.
