just installed greddy FMIC

this past weekend me,twinturboteddy, and jetlag installed the greedy FMIC on my car. it was a fun install, but let me say that its not somthing i look forward to doing again. its way too much work.

performance increase was definately noticable throughout the whole powerband especially when the 2nd turbo comes on. i didnt notice much if any lag (due to pressure drop) at all.

i drove around all day today in stop and go conditions w/ some WOT runs and didnt experience any heating probs(of course i have the fan mod). engine temps SEEMED to be the same as they were before without the FMIC, but i cant give you an exact number without a gauge.

the only thing i didnt like about the this FMICkit washow close the battery sits to the pulleys. clearence is probably .5 inch. all the cutting/hacking of the bumper, supports, etc...sucked too, but oh well . hopefully ill have some pics from the install up soon for you guys to check out.

it looks real slick. Install was must more time consuming than I thought.

Hacking the metal frame support, the fiberglass bumper reinforcement, the bumper itself, some small parts of the frame inside the engine bay, battery box manipulation, remounting the a/c condenser, radiator, and a NEW power steering line.

But nonetheless, his car feels really really fast, in fact. I remember last year when I installed my A'PEXi FMIC (8 hour install as opposed to 3 day!!!) I could have swore 20-30 hp increase!!! Even more than from removing that cat.

Doesn't the intercooler act as the bumper reinforcement? I have mine sitting on the floor of my garage. But I have an Apexi front so maybe it's differnent. I remember reading an article in a magazine where they added a FMIC and gained 30rwhp.

if that's so, you would gain even more on the streets, when you are relying on fans to give you airflow.

I don't know about you guys, but I sure can't have a full meal at taco bell for $3.

Looks pretty good...

I just did a BLITZ kit on my friend's, didn't have to cut up much of the car at all, just the battery tray, one of the radiator hoses, and the thin metal support under the batt. tray. Did have to refabricate one bracket though because of the thicker Fluidyne I put in with the FMIC but other than that it has all the right brackets. I'll have to get some pictures to post...

the kit was $1040 (shipped) off of a group buy from jason. it came with everything needed to install except for intake filters, and a batterey. difficulty level was hard, but not impossible. it was a very time consuming job.
