You should make a set of leather covers for FC t2 seats.

We don't know how popular those covers would be.

Basically every FC generation RX-7 has significant bolster wear on the driver's side seat as early as 30k miles. If you did make a solution, would would you recommend for something more durable?

Here's a pic from a very low mileage car on bringatrailer.com right now... most are even worse...

Genuine or nappa leather. Those are much more durable then synthetic. You could also do alcantara inserts which is extremely durable.

I would easily pay 500 bucks for replacement leather seat skins for an FC. It is ridiculously hard to find replacement seats. I know you guys would prefer the FD market, but some of the FC guys got money to throw around for the right products.

We do have FC seat covers too, but FC came in several different styles, and we have only one type. Here is the link https://ridies.com/Product/26134/198...er-Seat-Covers

Thanks

Well then, I have found the perfect option to make my interior 100% black now. Only thing missing is seats. Thanks!

But please make sure that you have the same types of seats that these covers are for. Like I said, FC came in several different types of seats and we only have one type. These won't fit the other types.

Thanks

Do you know if the FC seat covers are for turbo seats? I’m not seeinng any pictures on your site. I’d order a set if they were for the turbo seats.

Not sure if we have turbo or not. Please send us the picture of your seats.

Thanks

Not wanting to thread jack, but for the FC guys, back in 2005 I picked up a set of genuine leather seat skins for my S5T2 form leatherseats.com, cost me around $475. They had a group buy going on here at the time, not sure if that vendor still makes FC covers or are even still in business. FWIW, they've held up great - still look & feel brand new with no bolster wear.

Leather seat covers

I couldn't find any install info on your site, how difficult are these to install? Also, the photos on the site show some wrinkling around the bolster areas that are concerning. Are these related to the fit or are they installation error?

Also, is the logo stitched into the leather or embossed?

I'm looking to order soon for my FD.

Thanks!

These covers do not come with instructions for installation. You will have to watch few youtube videos. 50% of our customers install these themselves but we always recommend to get them installed professionally.

About wrinkles, lot of those are because of bad installation or because they didn't take the time to use heat gun or steamer to stretch the leather. These wrinkles go away over time btw.

Logo is stitched.

Thanks

Surprised me with the FC seat covers. Impress me with a replacement set for an rx4 coupe. PM me if you need my seat covers as a prototype. You could have great market in Australia and a decent amount in north America

Installed

Well, I purchased and had a set of these installed last week. Overall they are pretty nice. Only complaint is that the fabric doesn't quite cover the back of the seat so when you lean the seat forward you can see some foam at the base of the seat. Otherwise, the upholstery shop said they were easier to install than some of the others they have seen. They appear to be soft leather, we'll see how they hold up.

Hope this helps!

These look nice. Can you please take your car outside in the sun and then take few pictures of seats?

We would like to see closeup of the seats too if possible.

We will appreciate your help, lot of customers ask for pictures.

Thanks

Need to put a steam machine on those

RockStim7 05-04-19 04:57 PM

Any chance you can take a picture of what you're talking about regarding the lack of fabric and foam showing? Also for Ridies.. any chance that gets corrected if it is a big issue?

Definitely. See attached. The "v" starts too huh up, needed to be longer. These were professionally installed by a shop I've used a few times with great success in the past.

Also just a side note that steaming will not remove the wrinkles (the shop, of course, steamed these prior to install), the covers themselves pucker slightly because they are slightly too small for the seats and that's where the wrinkles comes in. Like wearing a button down shirt that's a half size too small. Now that I've had them installed for a few weeks it's less but still present. Just FYI!

I got some of these for my old BMW and had them professionally installed and they looked perfect. My seats are good in my RX-7 currently if they weren't I would order these from rides.

I'm thinking the same thing... Just picked up a nice FD that can use a leather seat refresh. Anyone else buy these and what do you all think about the results/quality of the product?

MaximaPower 12-24-19 05:06 PM

So this comes with the seatbelt latch thingy already on it?

Brekyrself 01-26-20 07:05 PM

Any more feed back on these?

Veilside Bunny 04-22-20 06:42 PM

I'm considering getting these for my FD. I have the original beige interior and I'm trying t replace everything with black. I want it to look as good as possible to I might just buy used seats.

Why 04-26-20 09:15 PM

Can these replace cloth seats?

Anyone else buy these? Were they in stock or did it take weeks to make? Does it come with the seat belt holder and brackets? Or you reuse the old one?

Mine did not come with the belt holder or bracket, I ordered a new set for install from Priority Mazda. I've had these covers installed now for a little over a year and they are in great shape. I'm definitely happy with how they have held up and they look great. They were in stock and shipped within 1 week of my order, but that was about a year ago. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply, only downside I see is how baggy they are.

Tommykaira 11-25-20 02:50 PM

I just had these covers installed on my seats, and I'm happy with the results. I purchase the nappa leather in black. There are very few if any wrinkles.

https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...34960f05c1.jpg

I paid a local shop $400 to repair the foam in one of the bolsters and install the covers.

Mine don't appear to have the missing fabric issue noted above.

They look great, now that there's a few more folks posting up reviews on these seat covers here, I might pull the trigger on a set for my FD. Question for you though - Is the seat belt guide strap shown in your pictures the original OEM Mazda piece that was re-installed, or did you replace the Mazda piece with the optional guide that Ridies.com offers?

Reason I ask is my original Mazda seat belt guide plastics are pretty beat up, and if that's a replacement copy, it sure looks just like the original.

Those are the OEM Mazda seat belt guides. I asked the installer to reinstall those from the original covers.
