That's a shame. The build looked pretty awesome. Color was great and everything looked top notch. Not to mention the LS7...

update 7yrs later..... The LS7 was great; however the factory dry sump oiling system left a lot more to be expected! I sold the motor as I wanted more power and remedy the oiling shortcomings (it made 520rwhp)..... then built a crazy 441ci setup to make 700rwhp n/a.... finally a customer in FL bought my car last year and I stuffed a 416 inside with T56 Magnum transmission (I'm a dealer for them). Fun ride.... I bought my buddies LS9 turbo (88mm 1200rwhp) powered FD RX-7 to replace it.

talk about a clean underbelly. wow.

It had a Precision GTS76 (T4 rated at 1200hp) on it before and that was pretty responsive on a 6.2 liter engine running e85. That setup went 9.30@162mph fully tapped out driving like a maniac all over the track. The new 88mm is also a Precision T4 and is rated at around 1450hp. While a little slower to spool up maybe 300rpm later (well under 4000 for full boost) it carries well over 7500rpm and pulls a hell of a lot stronger than the GTS76 albeit with a slightly slower spool time. Verdict...... the 88mm is worth the upgrade and so far has gone 9.30@163mph with a ton left in it driving like Ms. Daisy and zero boost launch. I hope in 2019 to finally run an 8 second pass at around 170mph driving to/from the track running pump e85 ($2.50/gal).

An N/A V8 that runs low 10's is plenty fast and you can take it on the road course and push it HARD. There is no way in hell you are going to do that with a turbo V8. This is now a straight line car for the most part with 1000rwhp+. It was running an LS9 block, $100 cast LS1 crank, Compstar rods, Wiseco pistons, MAST LS3 heads, stock LS3 intake/90mm TB, ID1650 injectors, T56 Magnum, McLeod RXT 1200HD twin disc and 8.8" solid rear with 3.31 gears on a Wavetrac LSD. Believe it or not that stock crank lasted for 3 years and hundreds of street/strip passes plus lots of 1/2 mile racing. What finally killed the crankshaft was a 1-4 gear burnout and after letting off the throttle it got traction (should've put in clutch) and literally snapped the crank.
