FB or FC for build?

I found an FB roller for $300. Wouldnt it just turn into a pain in the ____ tho? I would probably want to do a steering rack swap and then it would need a different rear end to handle the power. Fb's dont have the aftermarket support that FCs do and the car wont handle as well when its done (even though its lighter.) Should I wait and try to get an FC roller for $800 or so?

Any car at that price will be a pain in the ass.

FBs are light, I personally am more of a fan of the FC body style.

why do you say an FC would handle better?

I'm about to do an FB build mainly because the 78-80 look more classic and are lighter....but I intend to make it handle.

So, I'm interested in responses.

FC would be a little easier due to more of an LSx adapter "aftermarket". FB shouldnt be bad BUT it all depends on how deep your pockets are for either chassis.

I would assume FC would be cheaper.

stock for stock fc over the fb chassis.

what about an FB with second gen brakes/calipers (84-85 spindles) and slotted rotors, simple coil overs, aftermarket shocks, sway bars and 17 x 9.5 x 255 rubbers in the rear and 16 x 8.5 x 225's In .the front, sway bars, full bushing and steering refreshments.

Serious question. cause that's my plan on the setup i'm planning.

considering the weight advantage......would the FB win out or lose to an FC with similar upgrades?

Cause the FC is still 22-28 years old and would need those things for a build as well.

the weakest part of the fb is the old recirc ball steering box, change that to a rack and pinion of your flavor, or just swap in FC subframes( been done before) or even better yet rx8 subframes

For me, the whole point of putting my 5.0 in an FC was to get rid of the live axle. I loved all my Mustangs, but they handle for crap in turns (until the early 2000's Cobra, I know, I know!). Now I have my Mustang growl (nothing like it!) and launching power with the ability to pour through turns like an RX-7... as long as I don't hit the gas in a turn lol! Like a sexy Japanese woman who speaks perfect English. Mmm...
