curious as to hp and 1/4 times should look like
my engine is gettin rebuilt as i type..it has a rb exhaust, rb dp, and a stage 2 racing turbine...i was wonderin what my hp and 1/4 mile numbers should look like
|
Well, if you want some numbers from a comparable setup I might be able to help. I just got back from the dyno, and put down 231hp and 246 torque.
Setup: 3" dp, 3" mp, 2.5" yp, HKS intake, Aeromotive FPR, Racing Beat FCD, HKS EVC IV Boost Controller set @ 0.65Bar approx 10psi. I also ran the 1/4 last weekend and pulled of a 14.1 @ 100mph on a normal tire w/ normal pressure. Hope that helps. |
it does but like the thing i dont get is on my motor with the stock turbo i beat a srt4 and a 13 sec. civ. so im wonderin if maybe my engine had somethng done to it...ill find out for sure when i get my motor in and take it to a track...my estimate was around high 13s now and then hopefully with this turbo ill b close to low 12s or high twelves
|
Sounds good. I've been doing a little tinkering and I borowed my friends tires, so we're going to the track this weekend and we are going to try and hit a mid 13. If I manage to do that, you should be able to hit your numbers no prob.
|
defintily...idk i hope urs hits those times too...i just hope i get traction cuz with the turbo the mechanic siad it was twice as fast...he installed everythign got it to run then found out apex seals were shot so now im waitin another week and a half till i get my engine rebuilt and have them put it bak in my car...so in a couple of weeks ill elt you no...i hope the rebuilt engine will help with hp numbers and also the new plugs and wires being put in...thank you
|
sick sig bro lol...slows down my et
|
like im still in school so upgrading my car is kinda hard but i have like 3 kids in my school with mustangs that think there the shit so i gotta show em what the rotary powa can do...so i hope this turbo and rebuild helps
|
Well, good luck with that, I'm on my way to the dyno.
|
maybe your motor is ported? LoL
oh dude, mustangs were built to get whooped :D |
lol i no but they dont know that yet...they dont even think i have a car, every time they say that i go youll know when u see my taillights...but good luck on the dyno wish i had a shop round my area with one so i would know for sure

Ease up a little bit bro, it was my first time at the track and I only made three passes. I don't understand why there always has to be one person who goes into a thread and just flames.
Just so you know, I should be going back to the track this weekend so I hope I can pull off some better times and gain your respect........ |
lol dont worry about my respect. but regardless of launching, etc. your trap speed should somewhat display how much power your car is making.
were your dyno numbers at the flywheel or wheels? |
did u hit up the dyno...yet
|
me?

I went back to the dyno on Fri. night. It was a different place than the last time and I'm told that this one give more acurate readings.
My best run was 240 RWHP and 270 ft-lbs of torque @ 9.0 Bar. We turned the boost down to 8.0 Bar and adjusted the fuel a little and I ran 231 RWHP and 250 ft-lbs of torque. I went back to the track on Sat. and for the life of me I cannot launch without bogging out. I ended up running a 14.1 1/4 mile @ 102.5mph with a 2.3 60ft. I would have kept practicing, but on my second pass I busted something. Still havn't had a chance to check it out yet. I was able to drive the car home but something is definetly wrong. It deccelerates normally, but when I get on the gas, it sounds like crap, won't accelerate properly, back fires like a bitch and it almost stalls out at idle. I think I might have just popped a vaccum line off somewhere, but I also havn't discounted the fact that I may have fucked the motor in some way. Well, I guess I'll find out today. |
definately check the vaccum lines, anything that sees boost pressure. and did you mean 8.0 psi????? cause 8bar is like..... 117 psi :D
|
was the sound a big boom...cuz my car def did the same thing and i blew up my motor...so i hope thats not what happened if it is im thinkn 20b swap lol...mine did the same thing...i got on it and all of a sudden heard a loud bang and then my car had no acceleration, no idle any more and the mechanix told me i blew my turbo which blew my engine up...so i hope it works out for you
|
how about a n/a 86 automatic? what should i see out of that?
|
"240 RWHP and 270 ft-lbs of torque @ 9.0 Bar." WTF?!?
Sorry something just seems wrong there. 270ft-lbs of torque seems quite high for the mods you have.. "for the life of me I cannot launch without bogging out" its either bogg out or spin out.. most people are like that until they get practice. |
Sorry guys, I ment 0.9 bar ans 0.8 bar. It was late and I was tiered. My mistake.
As for the dyno readings, I shit you not. I have more torque than hp don't ask me how though. |

Well, I guess I'll find out today. .9 bar is alot of boost. ESPECIALLY if you have an anywhere-near-stock fuel system. i was running .7bar on the dyno when i made 222whp/210tq and it was too lean (226whp sae corrected). you say you turned the boost down to .8 bar and tuned the fuel some; what were you using the tune the fuel? if you give us this information we can pretty much figure out if you've blown your engine or not... what are your fuel mods? |
I have a Racing Beat FCD, Aeromotive FPR, and a Walbro 255lph FP. We used something called a "five gas scanner"? or something like that. I think its similar to a high budget wideband O2.
I took the car over to my shop today and they gave me the bad news. Engine is shot. Not really surprised though, at that point I was racing on hopes and dreams more than anything else. They are going to rip the engine apart tomorrow morning to wee what, if anything we can salvage and then go forward from there. Well I guess thats it for this season. See everyone in 05. |
i was at there when dyno'd his car.........and i shit you not........its a torque monster....haha
mike at DL motorsports knows what hes doing. he has more then enough fuel for his .9 bar....... but the stock intercooler is just not up to those boost levels...... before the dyno run the intercooler would be semi-cool or roomish temperature.....but one pull, in 4th gear 2k up to 7.5 k....would result in and over heated intercooler.....basicly hot enough to get a really bad burn on your hands........ so to all turboll owners..........a FMIC is one of the first upgrades you should do..... |
sorry about the car bud............
we'll get'em next year.........im shooting for high 12's while trying to keep the car as close to stock as possible......excpet for the intercooler.......that my friends is going to be damn big and efficient.....:) |
