12.9

heres a vid of me running a 12.9 at Orlando Speedworld. you cant tell but it spun in second like crazy, and almost all of 1st. with better tires and 2-step, car should do much better...

oh...and the other car is my brothers 1986 corolla with a MR2 supercharger motor converted to turbo, with everything else to back it up. the car is crazy quick but was fucking up real bad that night.

Glad to see that your enjoying the car. http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k8...s/000200D5.gif

What kind of tires were you running?

Silverfc88 10-05-08 02:30 PM

What where the traps?

J-Rat 10-05-08 02:30 PM

Get some DRs or ET Streets, STAT!!

255/40/17 regular tires nothing special.

sen2two 10-05-08 02:55 PM

i trapped 110mph. so i should be running a much lower 12 second pass. the tires are a no namer brand. Ventus or something like that.

i have a pair of 10inch wide, 26inch tall slicks for 15's. but i gotta get some 15's first...

blimp 10-05-08 03:06 PM

lol i went to the track a couple weeks ago and did a 14.0 at 109mph hahahah. Ya 235 all seasons are definitely not the way to go.

That's a very low mph for that power level, but it could be the lack of tire.

I ran a 12.9 @ 109 with an open diff and ~300 whp, so with your power and a decent tire you should be looking for low 12's if not high 11's.

I'd recommend the Hoosier drag radials for a track only tire, or the Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials (I ran the latter on that run, 275/40/17).

If you have slicks already though that will work too. :icon_tup:

BTW, it looked like you held a burnout for awhile. I'd advise against any burnout on street tires.

im looking to run atleast an 11.9

with tires and a 2 step to build boost off the line, i should be there. it was a humid night here in orlando too.

TweakGames 10-28-08 08:41 PM

Very nice.

Frostycrowd 10-29-08 10:53 AM

your not going to build very much boost off the line with a 2-step. What ecu are you using, anti-lag is the way to go.

sen2two 10-29-08 01:15 PM

anti-lag is similar, but different. anti-lag is used for rally type situations. when decelerating or off the throttle the boost stays up.

2-step builds boost at the line in a similar way. plus i get to launch at the correct RPM every time...

Frostycrowd 10-29-08 08:45 PM

No. 2-step is only a second rev limiter. I have a two step and I can build maybe 2 pounds if I sit on it.

Anti-Lag is when it retards the timing to cause the gas to explode in the turbo and spool it while at the line.

There is rally anti-lag which when you let off the throttle goes into antilag mode to keep boost up while cornering.

Again, What ecu are you using?

Correct. 2-step will help in terms of being able to wide-open throttle the car as it bounces off a lower, secondary rev limiter (say 5500rpm to launch) but otherwise it will not help the turbo build any significant boost at all. Anti-lag will, however, by pulling spark and by adding loads of fuel to create uncontrolled combustion in the exhaust manifold and turbo (assuming it's hot) to get it going. On our cars we wired the anti-lag PWM (haltech here) up to a master switch and through the clutch switch. That way, with the master switch on, it activates when you are depressing the clutch pedal.

ok...well i just learned a little something.

microtech lt8s

dguy 10-31-08 02:33 PM

I built about 3 psi using my microtechs soft touch rev limiter. This was on a stock turbo.
