0-60 time est. 1/4??

I have a 91 n/a, streetported, headerback exhaust, airintake, powersteering removed ac removed. Any ideas what 0-60 time and 1/4 time would be?

Impreza2RX7 03-12-05 10:56 PM

Maybe 0-60 in 6.5 seconds..

neu 03-12-05 10:59 PM

6.5... jesus christ my n/a is a lot faster than that... and it's on stock ports

flamin-roids 03-12-05 11:01 PM

Could be anywhere from 5 seconds to 13 seconds. 5 seconds being the car is stripped completely with higher gear ratios and a good driver. 8-9 seconds for a close to factory wieght, bad tuning and a mediocre driver. 13 seconds if the motor is nearly dead and you have an auto.

So your N/A is faster than a TII on its stock ports? Please don't tell me you counted 1 mississippi 2 mississippi while watching the needle. And if its alot faster you're probably beating WRX's, S2000's, and 350z's.

neu 03-12-05 11:05 PM

mines not stripped... has a little weight redux, stock ports, stock tranny, good driver, and im under 6.5... so wtf? on an s4 n/a

neu 03-12-05 11:07 PM

no, i didnt count, lol, had a friend with a stop watch, which isnt really that accurate... but it wasnt 6.5... only thing different with the drive train is a newer tranny, mazdatrix shifter, t2 rear end

ddub 03-12-05 11:09 PM

A 6.5 0-60 is approximately 15.0 1/4 mile at sea level. On an N/A with stock port this IS possible depending on degree of weight reduction and mods. I hit 14.9 1/4 mile on stock port, but it took some work.

neu 03-12-05 11:12 PM

all of my weight redux went to crap, because i had a friend in the car with me... it all started when i kept beating everyone in first and second... which is 0 - 60... so we had to test it out against a few cars, and eventually a few times with a stop watch

neu 03-12-05 11:13 PM

but that was with the old SE tranny and open differential.. so who knows what would be different know with the newer stock tranny and TII rear end?

Camrann 03-15-05 12:30 PM

oh yeah I forgot the engine, is just rebuilt, 8,000 miles on it, it got everything replaced and the transmission was just rebuilt as well. the gear ratios were a little changed I believe. Because I got up to 88 in 2nd at 8,000rpm and 110 in 3rd at 7000rpm and 8,000 is redline.

SDrotary-FC 03-15-05 12:34 PM

i would say 14.2-14.8 if you can drive

any idea about a 0-60 time?

SonicRaT 03-15-05 01:02 PM

15.4. Sounds like whoever did your tranny killed your acceleration. Adding 20mph to second gear is pretty damn excessive.

gerbraldy 03-15-05 01:31 PM

I'd say 20mins 0-60

actually it accelerates very quickly, it goes 110 at redline not 7,000rpm** my fault, and that is only adding about 10mph as far as im concerned. n/a goes faster top end, less compression.

gerbraldy 03-15-05 02:41 PM

just go get a g-tech, their like $199 and they show you everything you want to know

ajsuper7 03-15-05 05:33 PM

with my old gtech i consistantly ran between 6.3 and 6.5 on several runs on a cool night with my 91 n/a (A options package), with a slipping clutch and bad throwout bearing. my car had a bonez racepipe, 2.5 inch catback with straight through mufflers, intake, msd ignition and no spare/jack and a few other needless items taken out. this was at sea level. it had a high milage engine but excellent compression. the car was in great mechanical condition and i would launch anywhere between 5.5 and 6.5k with good tires. although it was only a n/a it was pretty quick and could surprise quite a few ricers. died of pd failure/fire so until i finish rebuilding it im stuck with a 91 vert...auto

SonicRaT 03-15-05 10:28 PM

Doesn't matter how 'fast' it 'seems' to accelerate, by making 2nd hit 80 is going to slow it down from what it original was. Regardless, I still don't see much evidence that would get this car below 15's.
