Trap Speeds

What do low mileage rx-7's with full bolts on's, with a good tune trap at on pump/race gas? I have a s4 being put back to stock and i plan on purchasing a rx-7, my best friend has a 93 supra with 24k miles on it, and our other friend is getting rid of his mach1 for a 07 cobra, i need to teach these boys a lesson

Then race on a track or get ready to blow butloads of money on a 20b setup.

Unless they plan to leave their cars stock and or the surpa is NA.

With all the bolt-ons, it is possible to trap in the 114-115mph range in the 1/4.

Yep...my personal goal is 114-115 with the bolt-ons. I'll be especially happy if it goes 116.

Faster is quite possible though...but from what I understand reliability goes downhill VERY quickly past 116.

Without a ported motor, but all the bolt-ons, (front mount included) its possible to see 108-112 at around 14 to 15 psi. I was seeing 118 on a ported motor and ported non-seqential stockers @ 16psi.

That sounds like mid-low 12's that pretty quick. If those cars are stock you will kill them even the 07 corbra. The problem is with just a few mods you can get that supra in the 11's. I know my ex-girl friend has a Supra turbo that more less looks stock that runs in the 11.5's with around $5000 worth of upgrades.

On street tires, I got it to hook really good once, no wheel hop (never happened acctually...) but just a little wheel spin in second. And my car is running almost every bolt on it ran a 12.719 at 113.1 MPH. With a set of slicks it could improve because it always breaks loose when I hit second.

Ohhh, and it's a stock motor, runing 1 bar of boost (14.5 PSI or so)

What 60' time? nobody has posted theirs...the times are 1/4 mile in the mid 12s. Its kinda hard to guess times by the traps but in a perfect world it works. I've seen high hp fds run mid 12s with traps in the high side of 117mph then again I myself ran high 12s with a trap of 108 (driver, mods, weight and so on do make a difference). The stickiest tires run 60' times of about 1.8 so anything close to 2 flat is decent.
My advise is to spend some $$ on the suspension. Once you eliminate wheel hop you can launch harder.

I've only ran my car three times... But with the best run at 12.719 at 113.1 my 60' time was:

60'- 2.024
330'-5.558
1/8-8.315 at 90.27 MPH
1000'-10.717

On street tires (245's on stock rims.)

I went just over 115 at 14 psi with a streetported motor, non seq twins and all the bolt ons. Tire size will play a role as well...

Just try keep the car from wheel hopping if you don't want to break anything. If your rear suspension bushings have seen better days I would slip the clutch off the line.

My last RX7 my best trap was 119.96, best 60' was a 1.65 and my best 1/4 was 11.70 that was on a stock motor and stock twins with all the bolt ons and 14 psi.

Last night in my newest 7 I went 12.34 @ 112.22 with a 1.68 60' and that was with 11psi. That was only my 4th pass in the car.

Hey, what tires were you running for all of these passes?
I went 12.7 @120 on street tires, letting off because of caliper issues. Also my 2nd time with the car @ the track.
