hey guys, took my rx7 out to the drag strip for test and tune.

95 rx7 PEP 119k miiles.
apexi gt spec axle back exhaust
apexi power fc
k&n drop in filter
koni yellows with eibach springs.

my best run of the day- route 66 in joliet il

mph- 78.95
1000- 11.985

e.t.- 14.231

mph-100.33

iv had runs anywhere from 14.8-14.5 usually. 1 pass at 14.2

some runs i had wheel hop some i didnt. also my shift from first to second gear loses boost. second gear boost is at 5psi all the way to 6k rpm and then its back to normal 10psi after that.

vac at idle from my boost gauge is at ~18 inhg

any one see what im doing wrong? why cant i break into the 13s? Please help!

 

because there is something wrong with your car, not necessarily you. seems you have boost issues.

 

I'm hoping that is the case. I am putting on a HKS downpipe and also i want to check that solenoid by the oil pan that i have read about.

The only thing that i dont understand is if the solenoid was sticking wouldn't i have the same issue every time i shift?

Also during the 14.2 pass, the boost was fine through all the gears.

Out of curiosity what rpm do people launch at? Stock wheels, bfg 255size tires. i want to get my 60' down!
