Lookin' good Gene.
Really can't see the wheels very wheel.
adjust the gamma on your monitor. or bring the contrast down in photoshop.
QUESTION: Is Volk doing "diamond black" now as an available finish? There might be hope for this taste-challenged wheel maker yet! |
Your car looks great sitting at the Volk booth!:D
I have been waiting to see the CE28Ns with the RE AD hood 9 combo.....perfect! Could you tell me your offset on the 17" CE28N Thanks, |
Yes, please post sizes, offsets, and tire sizes. Thanks.
Hi guys, the size of the wheels are 17x8F and 17x9.5 in the back and offset is +38 in the front, +42 back. Tire size is 255/4017R and 225/4017F. The wheels are very light! I weighed the 9.5 one on a digital scale and it came out to 16lbs compared to the volk gtn I had which was 22lbs. This was a special order color that took almost 4 months to arrive from Japan. I'm gonna take up close pics of the wheel soon.
Thanks :)
looks good. Can't wait for more pics
Ha ha, I was waiting for those pics too! Never occured to me that this was the same car I took some pics of at Sevenstock... Sorry, no side views, the car and booth to either side made it tough to get a clear shot...

how much you want for the gtn's?
GTN's have been sold. sorry. :)
Look sweet!
Are those centercaps the only option for CE28N? I almost think the wheels look better WITHOUT those center caps?
Manny,
I chose to put the centercaps on because to me, it looked naked w/o them. :) |
Originally posted by RX7 RAGE Manny, I chose to put the centercaps on because to me, it looked naked w/o them. :) Seriously, I'm leaning toward the CE28Ns again (was going with Volk SE37K) in Titanium silver, because of the 9.5 wide x 17, 47-mm offset size. It'd be good to have the widest possible wheels (without rubbing) at all four corners with 255/40-17s. With the SE37K, the widest I can go at all four is 9 x 17, 40-mm offset. That's marginally better than what I currently have with SSR Integral A2s in 9 x 17, 45-mm offset. The CE28N style is growing on me, although I think the SE37K mesh is still much better looking. The centercap for CE28N is optional correct? Are there other options for centercaps, like a simple button disk, like for the SE37K? I have a red FD like yours, but mine is with factory paint (build date April 1992). |

Originally posted by RX7 RAGE Yes, the centercap is optional on the ce28n and you can get different looking centercaps if you so desire. I'm pretty sure the simple button disk centercap will work but contact mackin industries (RAYS) to make sure. BTW, my FD is also factory vintage red paint build date march 1994. Does it look different? |
I checked out an 18x8" CE28N sitting in the local ricey shop this weekend. i couldn't believe how light it was... feels like plastic.
But, I was disapointed in the titanium silver finish... its a low-luster silver, and looked like a cheap spray paint job IMHO... maybe it was just a bad one... |
