looks good. I like the ride height. It looks functional. lol.

krayton 04-18-11 01:18 PM

is that maxed low in rear or can you go lower?

ARD T2 04-18-11 01:34 PM

I'm sure it can go lower but that looks to be the Howard Coleman approved ride height.

Rishie

mannykiller 04-18-11 06:10 PM

oh no.... it can go lower. This was just so I could get onto the trailer. I know some people don't really agree with the whole low look.. but I love it.

Anyone have any track time on these yet?

*RX007* 07-19-11 02:46 AM

What is the status on these? are they still being tested? any updates?

ARD T2 07-19-11 12:41 PM

They have been tested in Japan for a long time now. I should have 9 sets available this week. Please contact me for additional information via PM. As soon as the pallets show up we'll be posting more photos and will be getting a set installed on a locally sponsored FD.

Our alignment rack will be getting installed next week, Hunter Elite system, and we will be offering corner balancing/race alignments as well.

We're in Fremont so we'd love for you to make the trek down here to check em out.

Thanks, Rishie

Rishie you're probably not aware of this, but you might admit it's funny after you hear it.

Stance Japan is advertising "Made in USA since 2004" and the company website says "Finally landed in Japan!"

Everyone has been wondering where these are actually made and there are many discussions on various message boards like this. Forty One Automotive from New Zealand finally revealed the secret on the nzhondas board.

To confirm this, google did the rest.

An 8,000 KG shipment of suspension components from HSD (Hd System Co., Ltd.) in Korea to Touge Factory. Touge Factory has the same address as Stance USA and Origin Lab and it has been rumored they are the same company. Not surprisingly Touge Factory sells Stance suspension.

I really wish companies would just be honest about where their products come from. The efforts they take to hide the truth prove how important the "Made in Japan" and "Made in USA" brand image are. But we're just not that stupid and we'll find out anyway. Honestly I don't think most people would change their mind about buying Stance if they knew it was made in Korea. Where it's made doesn't change the fact that it's a good product for a good price. The success of Hyundai should prove that. Stance's marketing approach of lieing about the origin of the product creates a much worse brand image in my mind than being manufactured in Korea would. While it's not illegal, it is dishonest. I don't think anyone has forgotten the trouble that dishonest companies caused America in 2008.

But please don't let this discredit autornd because they didn't create Stance's marketing approach.

ARD T2 07-20-11 09:30 AM

That factory does not make the xr line. HSD only does the gr series, hence the price point. Xr is hand built in Japan by same factory as dg5 damper, register the price point. Your post has some validity, but not in regards to the xr series. Now I'm just gonna sit and wait for the aftermath.

In a world of internet its understandable why companies need to keep certain information quiet to prevent other companies from pursuing their factories. Stance is the only company u have not seen remanded in the states. This is not the case with China and Taiwan factories. Stance has very tight control on their product at the factory which is shown in the function of the product.

I thought everyone knew the gr is not made in usa or Japan. It's price point is indicative of that. Now xr series is a whole new beast. This one is rebranded, but built per their specs. Made in Japan, no lie. All xr get air freighter on pallet from Japan. Other stance cones on container. Xr can be rebuilt, gr cannot due to its sealed design.

ARD T2 07-20-11 09:32 AM

Did this from my phone. Remanded is meant to be rebranded.

mannykiller 07-20-11 11:37 AM

I was blown away with the quality of my Coilovers...

ARD T2 07-20-11 11:55 AM

OK so I'm at my desk now. I don't think anybody should feel mislead by 90% of the companies out there who claim their products are "made" = "assembled" in one country, when the individual parts might be manufactured in several different companies. That's just the nature of business in the modern world. Unless a company is doing limited production runs of a certain product and charging exorbitant amounts of money they are most likely using off the shelf parts and assembling them to their specs or outsourcing production. This is very common in Japan as well. Many Japanese companies have been forced to outsource manufacturing to countries in more southern parts of Asia, just to compete with the world market.

In any case the XR Coilover is hand assembled, built to exacting tolerances. It's not a mass production assembly line like the GR+ line of coilovers. The XR damper casing is honed to spec and tolerances of each piece are measured prior to its hand assembly. This is truly a Japanese bred and manufactured coilover.

Thanks, Rishie

Free bump for Rishie. Great seller and awesome customer service!

speedjunkie 12-08-11 06:59 PM

I'd still like to see some reviews on these. My current STANCE coilovers I guess would be considered GR, they were the first ones the company put out. They handle great, like it's on rails. The spring rates are 12/10 and it's prett stiff on the street, so I'm wondering what the 10/8 is like with the Swift springs. My buddy's Tein Flex with 10/8 was great on the street, but I'm not sure how they would do on the track (ir simply spirited driving) and how much they would compress. I'm running fairly tight fitment with the wheels and tires and can't afford them to compress too much, but I'm also wanting a little easier ride on the street, so I may have to go a little less aggressive with wheel fitment. I really like these coilovers though.

Aaron, do you have any time on these yet? I know you're in the middle of a build now, but I was wondering how they were before the build.

mannykiller 12-08-11 09:53 PM

You know thats funny you mention the Flex's.. as those were my previous set as well. They were great but I havn't had any time on my new coilovers at all. The car's been down since I put them on. Hopefully here in the next 3-4 months I should have some feedback...

speedjunkie 12-09-11 02:10 AM

^Well I'm looking to buy this month, but thanks anyway HAHAHA.

Yeah the Flex seem like they're pretty comfy for the street, but I didn't see how they handled curvy roads or anything. My current STANCE took me around a 90* corner at about 20-30mph and I didn't feel a bit of body roll. I also have RB front and rear sway bars though, so that probably helped haha. But I love my current coilovers. I've had them since about 05 or 06 though, and I really like these XR haha.

Still wanna hear your review though, even if I've already bought them haha.

And bump for Rishie also. I've bought two sets of wheels and one set of coilovers from him. Hasn't failed me yet haha.

94RX7R2 09-22-12 02:57 PM

I'm ready to buy the 10/8 Rishie, email sent.

Valkyrie 10-13-12 09:25 PM

What I want to know is why if theyre made in Japan they aren't sold there. No one here has heard of them. Japanese coilovers are EXPENSIVE even for shit brands; for the their supposed quality and price, they SHOULD be selling like hotcakes here.
