someone double check my numbers.... (wheels)
Okay... I think I made up my mind on the rim sizes I want. I'm definantly going with an 18" rim for cosmetic reasons, and when I get into autocrossing I'll just use my stockies. I want to go with a 18x9 in front with a +40 offset. And 18x10 in rear with a +50 offset. Does this sound right to you guys? I've been reading endless threads on offset sizes for what now seem like a year, and these figures seem to be the most concrete since everyone has their own opinion. Also, am I correct about the bolt pattern (5x114.3) for my 93 touring?
Tires...... haven't made up my mind on those yet but one's that I am interested in are: Bridgestones Potenza S-02's, BF Goodrich's TA KD's, and the all famous Nitto 555's. (I hear the Nitto's run big.... true?) I don't have my fd lowered yet but, I have plans to drop it a bit in the future. Any opinions and thoughts are deeply appreciated. Thank you for all who respond. I know this topic has worn it's welcome. Thanks for your time. -Justin |
18x9 +40 is risky, as you'll probably have to run stiff springs at close to the stock ride height to avoid rubbing. Much better to be at least +45. The rears are fine. With those wheel sizes, you would want to run 255/35 fronts and 285/30 rears. Avoid the Nittos and stick with the S03s, KDs or T1-S.

Aye Aye.
Rishie |
Oh, and BTW, you should contact Rishie (ARD T2) for a great deal on wheels and tires. He is the club wheel vendor and will know what sizes/offsets will work for you.
Damnit Rishie, hopefully I'll be PM'ing you about some wheels someday.... :( |
So 18x9 +45 fronts, and 18x10 +50 rears will work with stock suspension?
I thought the stock trailing arms, and toe links in the rear would interfere. |
I will most deffinantly PM Rishie when I get all the money I need. I was honestly going to say +45 in the front but I seen a red fd with 9's in the front and was using a +40 offset and it looked perfect. But he was using a 17" rim though. I'm still sort of considering a 17" rim but I do like the huge rim with massive brakes look. Some can call it ricey if they want but, that's the look I want to achieve.
Yeah what about the rear trailing arm? I heard this was a problem. Or was that pertaining to a rim wider than 10"? Also I want to have a healthy lip on my rear rims with these +50 offsets in the rear will I be able to achieve this look? Thanks again for you guys's help (rynberg). ARD T2 you might be hearing from me shortly if everything works out! :D PS: 5x114.3.... correct for the bolt pattern? |
yea 5x114.3
|
cool..... thanks for your help!

I believe the stock rims are +50 offset so I would think it would be okay since the offset is basically the same. If I'm wrong I would sure like to then too.
