Now if you live in the ghetto.......then nice RIMS DOG!

I like to follow the FIA definition of "wheel", "rim", and "tire".
FIA governs Formula 1, so I think they know what they are talking about.

"Wheel" is defined as "rim" + "tire".
"Tire" = self-explanatory
"Rim" = "Wheel" - "tire"

You're talking about "rim" as in "rim of a cup"..."rim of your glasses"..."rim of the crater".
Technically, you talking about is the "rim of the rim".

So when WE talk about "rim" or "rims", that's an accurate description of what this thread is about.

That makes no sense but ok.

A wheel is a wheel & a tire is a tire.
The rim is the outer most "part" of a wheel.

car is not together at the moment, but i checked the 17x9 +15 and they will fit without problems so i was going to be spacing down to atleast +0 front and -15 rear but now that i have seen yours i am going to go bigger.

ahaa, yeah, gotta be neg's all the way around! u're running wider fenders i'd guess... post some pics up when u get them! i'd like to see some other good fitment! there's few people that know about it... most are wanted by the offset police! hahahaa

FCNAred 01-06-06 12:24 PM

on my car i have 17x9 +18 all around on stock fenders, it fits pretty easily. Most people with a 9in wheel want to run like 255 or even 275 tires on them which is NOT possible, at least not in the front. I've got a 235 45 in the rear and a 215 in the front that i had laying around, soon to be 235 40 all around.

i am just rolled an pulled. i will get some wide fender for the front if i need.

as for tires i will run anything i can get my hands on. I need to pick up some tires this weekend getting 4 235/40/17 for $30 all in good condition

Hey BoostinmyS5 do you have any more pics of the black rims on the red fc maybe like a side shot? Both your cars look great.

Wow you totally changed the look of it, I couldn't tell it was the same car. The black one is also very nice. For some reason I really like how the sleepy eyes look on your car. Sex on wheels, keep up the good work.

Will this wheel and tire combo work?

front - 18x8.5, +38 offset with 225/40/18
rear - 18x9.5, +38 offset with 265/35/18

don't think the front will fit... the rear might, but the offset police will get u either way... you want more around 20-25 offset for those sizes..

what about spacers and rolling the fenders up front, do you think that will work

now you're talking my language! haha..... yeah you could run 25mm spacers along with rolling and pulling your fenders, it could work!!!

ALLslowNOshow 01-06-06 06:29 PM

I did a quick test fit. The rears should be fine with a carefull tire selection, and the fronts are gonna need spacers for sure with the stock suspension. How much extra room does coilovers give you?

coilovers will give u a bit, but not enough for that offset... you'll need spacers.. plus u don't want the offset police to come!!

Catharsis 01-06-06 07:29 PM

front will need spacer. the rear will clear no problem with 255, it wont be flush.

10AEturboII 01-08-06 07:54 PM

After a shitload of time reading this thread along with some others I have come to the following decision.

I am looking at the 5zigen FN01RC for my FC.

I want to go with
17x8 +25 w/ 225/40/17 for the front
17x9 +35 w/ 255/40/17 for the rear

Should these fit with no problems? I do not want to have to roll the fenders, and I will be lowering the car about an inch or so.

Does this set up seem to be right for a nice flush look?
or should I look at a different offset?

Catharsis 01-08-06 09:32 PM

rolling the fenders is easy there is no reason not to do it.

go with 17x9 +15 all the way around if ou want somethign that will fit easy and be as flush as you will want

Funkspectrum 01-09-06 12:20 AM

so... +35 on a 17x9.5 won't fit under the rear of the FC, even with rolling the fenders?

yes it should fit without rolling the fenders, well depending on what size tire you're running... if it's the 255 you'll prolly need to roll up the L portion of the fender, (where the inner and outer fender meet) because on hard cornering the tire might hit, since it won't be stretched in....

Catharsis 01-09-06 11:06 AM

it will fit without rolling whatsoever. a 10j with around the same offset will work also
