Kind of agree with this point, but 255 is too wide for an 8" wheel per tire manufacturers recommendations. Min width for 255 is 8.5". I'd go 235 on 8"
BACKWARDS! +35 offset will move the tire 15mm closer to the fender and further from the suspension vs. OEM +50 offset. |

Greg and Zdan,
So my front , 18 x 8 et 35 with 235/40/18 should fit without fender rolling and coilover, right? Thanks. |

15mm closer to the fender is not a problem on an 8" wheel. 15mm comes to about 9/16". The question is how low is your ride height? If you're slammed you can catch liner.

Is there any way that I can see pictures of your rims and set up because americastire is getting me completely new sets for me. I kind of go with my first route, which is tsw valencia as you are. I want to see the rear wheels have flush spokes. Also, they want me to pay the difference between konig lace and valencia, but with valencia the total comes out around 1600! Can you also confirm me that the fitment without fender roll with coilovers? I really thanks!
I've driven the car two weeks now, hit bumps, RRX'ings, driveways, pot holes and never rubbed anything, or bottomed out. From looking inside there seems to be plenty of room for coil-overs and big brakes. So with 235x40x18 fronts you should be ok without rolling the front, but I would recommend doing it anyway just to be safe. |
I ordered
Tsw valencia 18 x 8 et 40 with 225 40 18 Tsw valencia 18 x 9.5 et 40 with 275 35 18 The system at americastire says it will not fit, but greg already fit on his fd, so I ordered. I am crossing my fingers to fit those with stock body with coilover for the next. Wish me luck. |

Don't have time right now for pictures....I’ll take some tomorrow....TSW Valencia wheels; front 18x8 et40 with Nitto 255x35x18, (I would go 235x40x18 on your car) rear 18x9.5 et40, Nitto 275x35x18. This fitment gave me the closest diameter to stock(25ins), I had already rolled the front fenders, and lowered the car about 1 inch (Eibach springs, R1 struts), I didn't roll the rear fenders.

Thanks, again! Just realized I can't get you any pictures, the wheels are being painted gun metal.....I got the silver with the polished lip too....they look great, but I've always liked the BBS LM gun metal wheels...just not the price...$900 a wheel!! Anyone in here running a good track setup with feed front and rear fenders? I've been reading so much this morning that my eyes hurt, but I'm still as clueless as when I started. lol.
My car is LS1 swapped, so I need rear traction, but I also want to be able to do autocross/grip stuff without having my wheels smash into the fiberglass fenders and crack them. Could someone point me in the right direction as far as width's and offsets go? The only grippy looking car with the feed kit I've found specs for is herblenny's. Thanks! EDIT: The wheels I'm thinking about so far front: 18x9.5 +22 Gram Lights 57DR (255/35/18) rear: 18x10.5 +22 Gram Lights 57DR (285/30/18) |
Since you can run 18x11 +45 with 295 front and rear on rolled stock fenders why would you consider running anything less with a +30mm widebody?
You are basically limited to 295 up front only because no one makes a wider tire that isn't taller than 25". You can and track guys do run a taller than 25.3" tire, but you have to run you car high to prevent it from rubbing all over and still modify things so it doesn't rub (take out plastic fender liners, trim back of fender *not necessary on Feed*. So you can run 18x11 with +20 to +45 offset with 295/30-18 both front and rear or go up to 18x12 +20 to +30 with a 315/30-18 in the rear. If you want to make it work you can run 18x12 +20 to +30 w/ 315/30-18 front and rear, but it sounds like you want something you can bolt on and run. front: 18x9.5 +22 Gram Lights 57DR (255/35/18) rear: 18x10.5 +22 Gram Lights 57DR (285/30/18) Sure- that would work fine. Front- That fits to the fender side exactly the same in front as the 18x11 +45 w/ 295 I run up front on stock rolled fenders. You might want to put a 25mm spacer on it to flush it out with the +30 fender. Rear- That fits to the fender with about 2mm more room at the tire to fender than 315/30-18 on 18x12 +30 and stick out anout 15mm further from the fender at the tire than the 18x11 +45 I run on stock rolled fenders. Great reply, I appreciate it. I guess I didn't realize that the feed kit would allow me to fit such wide wheels! Could I move up to the 18x10.5 +22 all around with a 285/30 then?
Yep. You will probably need to run some camber up front to tuck the tire into the top of the fender. With all that grip you will want the camber anyways unless you just daily it. |
Here's what I'm thinking now:
Feed Fenders (+25mm) Advan TC3 18x10 +35 285/30/18 squared, with a 5mm spacer to bring it out to +30. Why? The diameter of this setup is pretty much exactly the same as I have now (17x9 +35 on 245/40/17). This means almost no ride height gain, which is good because right now I'm running a 25" ground-to-fender arch height, and I want to keep it there. It'll also be square and rotatable, They'll be ~17mm closer to the fender than what I have now. Maybe not the flushest setup, but I'm honestly not too concerned with flushness. In comparison to your setup, Blue TII, it'll only poke out 2.3mm more than your current setup which fits on stock body, I'm hoping with the feed widebody I'll have enough room to fit these all around without having to make any changes to the suspension. What do you think? |
Why on earth wouldn't you just do the 18x11 +30 Advan TC3?
It centers the tire in the same place as the 18x10 +30. Look here- Online Wheel and Tyre Fitment Calculator. Offset, Tyre Stretch and Speedo Error | Will They Fit |
After some driving with my new setup, just wanted to chime in. Im running a 18x9.5+35, that I had widened 1" which I believe would make them 18x10.5 +47. Using 285/30 Dunlop Z2 star spec all around. (10mm space in rear just for looks). Set ride height to 25" to fender lip in the front, 25.25" in the rear. Zeal function Xs coils 9/8 spring-rates. Still running front fender liners, rolled fenders. I have experienced zero rubbing so far with this setup with some spirited street driving.

Offset, Tyre Stretch and Speedo Error | Will They Fit Wider wheels provide better mechanical grip. They also offer more grip when the tire is slightly stretched, (wheel width wider than tread width). Bonus on the offset being perfect for what you want with a 18x11 +30mm offset. I am running 18x11.5 and the extra width is noticeable in terms of grip and stability under bracking/turning/etc. |

Thanks for the reply! No rubbing problems. The car is lowered with Eblach springs about 1 inch, front fenders are rolled, didn't roll the rear fenders. So far I've hit RR tracks, speed bumps and pot-holes with no rubbing anywhere.

I wanted to chime in here to give some feedback.
My favorite mod to date of everything on my car is probably wider wheels. I am running 18x11.5" +42.7mm 285/30/18 tires. the cars handles very well with this set up. I cannot stress how much doing a slight stretch of the tire onto the wheel makes for good handling. my second favorite has been 8/6 spring rate. |

I did read through all 18 pages, used the Excel file, and the site's calculator under the Tools menu. My body setup:
Stock front Pettit rear flares Stoptech Sport Kit (no BBK planned) Here's what I want to do, and I believe it'll work. Looking for any input on my thoughts. Enkei PF07 w/ BFG G-Force Rival S 18x9.5 +40 fronts w/ 275/35-18 18x10.5 +15 rears w/ 315/30-18 I want that rear offset to minimize or negate the need of a spacer with the Pettit rear flares. Based on the calculators, I should get more inside clearance and fine outside clearance. The concern I have is the tire width on the rear. I think it may be too wide for the 10.5 and these are the only off-self rim I actually like with a good width. I don't mind going more narrow on both the wheel and tire if it'll line up better with the rear flares. I'd like the tire to sit within the flares, not flush or poking out. I would like a bit of overlap on rim lip, but definitely don't want a big bulge. I also want absolutely no rubbing on the stock front. If I need to go down on rim or tire size, that's fine. No suspension changes, links, or other issues to work around. Any input is appreciated. |
No you cannot run a 275/35-18 up front as that tire has too tall an outer diameter.
It will catch the rear of the front fender opening and rub on the fender liner as well as catch the outside of the fender lip when turning. You can run "some" 265/35-18 (under 25.4" tall) or you can run a 285/30-18 or 295/30-18 up front. If you ran that 265/30-18 on an 18xwhatever width +40 you would need to run at least -2.4 degrees negative camber (maxed camber adjusters at 25.5" to fender arch ride height) and you would have to roll the front fender lip under. Same for the 285 or 295 except you will have to run +45 offset wheel and maybe pull the front fender with the roll. If you don't want to roll the front fender lip under you need +50 offset up front and are limited to 265/35-18 with max front negative camber. If you don't want to roll the front fender lip under nor run max negative camber up front you are limited to +50 offset and 255/35-18 and around -1.5 degrees negative camber. |

I'm thinking the rears should come down from the 315 then. I'm only concerned about it looking lost in the rears with the flares. They came on the car but I wouldn't have done it myself. |

Dear forum members,
I've bought some 18x10,5 offset 22 wheels with 245/45 tyres, but I could not fit in. Fender lip has been cut a little bit by the previous owner. I tried to adjust camber to maximum. Stock disk brakes, stock everything at the back. I will install tein super flex later. https://www.rx7club.com/build-thread.../#post11625083 This guy has the same wheel size at the back, and seems like it does fit without crazy camber, however mine does not fit and rubs like crazy. Please give me some advice :) Thank you! |

I tried to adjust camber to maximum. Stock disk brakes, stock everything at the back. I will install tein super flex later. Welcome to "stance". Yes, that is correct. The wheel/tire you chose will "fit" with a bit more pull on the fender and add camber (I call that not fitting, but I am old). Possible differences I see between your set-up and the one you linked- 1) The tire you chose is a performance tire and is wider per nominal size than the commuter tire on the linked car. 2) Your tire also has a "rim protector flange" so it sticks out further than the wheel than the linked car. His tire does not have that so it pulls away where the tire bead meats the wheel bead (so it doesn't stick out past the wheel). It looks like he has more fender pull and his camber is higher at ride height from being lower (camber curve of suspension). ---------- Lots of stanced cars rub too or would if driven hard. If you gingerly drive them around on the stiff coilovers you can get by. Like I said, welcome to stance. ---------- Wrong offset. 18x11 +45 with 295/30-18 fits the same where the tire tread meets the fender and the wheel sticks out 17mm less. This was not my original plan (I mean joining the "stance" club), but I found this set for cheap in Japan, so I searched the internet, found pictures, seemed like it fits easily. If possible I wanted to avoid pulling the fender, I will roll at the weekend, install the teins, and will see. If still not even close to be able to fit, then I will try to sell. Thanks again! Yes, the TE37 are very nice wheels.
I have 2 sets for my FC. Unfortunately, all the JDM wheel manufacturers refuse to make wide monoblock (light) wheels with higher offsets that will actually fit the FD. They do make 18x10.5 +40, 18x11 +40 and 18x11 +59 for Porsche, but wrong wheel stud pattern. So frustrating. You could have 15mm thick 5x114.3 to 5x130 wheel adapters made and run the 18x11 +59 (+44 w/adapter). I gave up and bought cheap Chinese wheels (Forgestar) and couldn't be happier. They turned out to be very light and strong as well as cheap. There is hope the Japanese will catch up on FD wheel fitment, I just saw my first EFR powered car on Hot Version (EFR 7670 Evo) and yes, it dominated and all they could say is "Torku!" Lets hope Feed ditches the old TO4R/T04Z on the touge FD for an EFR 8374. |
+1 Forgestars are great wheels.

Was wondering if I could run a square set of 17x9 +38 with 255/40/17 on my FD...
Seems like it might be close in the front w/o a roll. I'd rather not roll. |
I'm running 17x10 +38 all around with 255 40 17 and I only needed a small roll. You should be fine.
I would suggest narrower tires for a 9" wheel width. I have a very slight stretch on mine and it is very nice to drive and very perictable. In contrast , I have a set of volks that are 17 x 8.5 and 17 x 9.5 rear with 255s from and 275s rear and it feels more like a floaty ride, less feedback. Blue T2 and lookatme suggested my fitment and I'm really glad I listened. |
I'm open to recommendations. Are there 235/245 options? I'd like to put a little more rubber down than the stockers. IIRC the factory FD 17's run 235/255 on 8/8.5(for reference).

Seems like it might be close in the front w/o a roll. I'd rather not roll. Those wheels will work up front, a little close on OEM fenders but you'll be ok. Esp with a little camber and a slightly stretched tire. Rears you can run a 10mm spacer all day long to flush 'em out a bit. tire sizes it gets a bit tough, you want to stick to ~25 inch OD and avoid running taller front then rear (vice versa is OK). Personally I think the whole 'rotating tires for extended life' on a non-daily driver is over rated. Consider a non-square fitment of 245/40 up front and 255/40 in the rear. Michelin Pilot Supersport is a great option :icon_tup: |

I was told 255 would work but I looked into it again and it looks like there will be some rubbing but I'm not 100% on this. Based on the wheel sizing excel sheet Front wheel offset (35mm) Tire clearance, outside (0.12in.) Tire clearance, inside (1.38in.) It's making me start to think that 245 would even rub due to the low outside tire clearance. What do you guys think? |
