I tried my best with the center caps and I even tried to polish the clear rubber that is on the BBS. They came out pretty good.

Wow, it's rare that I'm impressed by much on this forum, but you really did a first class job on refurbishing those wheels. I started chuckling when I saw the first picture of your junkyard "find", and stopped when I got to the second post. Nice job. :bigthumb:
Sort of like the thread on AVS Forum where the guy starts off talking about building his own home theater in his garage... https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1188063131 And ends up with this. :) https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1188063131 |
wow you are rediculously handy m8 you even made those damn caps look great from rubbish to beautiful
i just saw the finished product pictured and damn... they look sick
beautiful job :)
WOW!!! you have motivated me to find some BBS wheels and refurbish them as well
damn that's a nice finish!!
Dam those look good. I have a set of vert wheels that I have been cleaning for 2 days. They look alright but I think I will try your method and see what happens
hmm i was doing some search for info on some wheels i sold, apparently they are from the same family but its a 16x8 +25.. sold them though, i suppose the 16x8 was even more rare as the 16x7 has ford knockoffs. (according to what i found)
Wow I'm impressed man you really cleaned those up.
weight and pics of them on a car!!!
lookin' good man. hope to see some updates soon! :)
how did you clean them so well? any solution.
Wow, this is some good inspiration to redo my volks. Thanks!
BTW- that home theater is just disgusting, wow. |

Got three done and I think they came out pretty good. I got some of the curb marks off, but my hands would start to hurt real bad so I just kinda gave up on a couple of them. I had to use a file on one of them it was curbed so bad. I just gotta stop being lazy and get the fourth one done.

What happened to this thread!?! I am also thinking about somehow getting my hands on some of these wheels. I want to see the wheels mounted man!!
Got around to mounting them and I think they look pretty good!

How much did you pay for them?
Im gonna start looking through the local salvage yards. lol |
I don't want to say so I can sell them for a decent price later on down the road. :)
damn they look good.
sweet. now take a pic from behind. :)
Those things look hotness. If I'm not mistaken those came off of a late-90's Crown Victoria. They are great replacements. I can't imagine they cost much. Great job. Did they clear the caliper nipple?
Yep your right, but I got these from a 89 Lincoln Mark VII.
You will need a very small spacer to clear the front brakes and nothing in the rear. To make the rears more flush you can probably get some bolt on spacer's. I didn't care to do that because these are my new winter sluts and the track is still open so I still want to be able to bolt on my drag radials. I know there are some 16x8's floating around, but I can't seem to find a set. |
