|
very nice very nice... thank guys, ill post pics of my new rims when i get them on the 19th
|
Eh... 18's are a little too big for a FC IMO. 17's seem to fit just right.
Personally I rock 16's... mostly for the perf value, and the fact that they are gun metal. I've got a set of bling bling'n 17's for when I wanna pick up some sluts and have some ass to mouth fun with two or three at a time. Yeah. |

I too think 18's are a bit on the big side for FCs. My brother has a set of 18' RX8 wheels on his TII, and it looks a little dis-proportioned. I am more old school I guess.
I have a set of FD wheels powder coated white- but I like to stay in the confines of an OEM look. http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k3...n/IMGP0107.jpg |
18's- too big.
|
i remember there was a guy selling a fc wit some 22's on it...thats too big

That is probably the nicest FC I've seen. Kinda wish that just the spokes on the wheels were black with white on the outside edge. But seriously, excellent car. |
Thanks Fellas. Black on white rims would look pretty good. The spoiler was recently donated from an S5 and needs paint, along with the hood scoop.
I will see if I can dig up some pics of my brother's ride with the RX8 wheels. |

Yeah. |
This is a pic of my brother's car with the RX8 wheels. Stock ride height in this pic.
225s all the way around with either 25 or 30mm spacers. Front wheels do rub the quarter panels on hard bumps. http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k3...n/rx8rims1.jpg |
How can the front wheels rub the quarter panels?
|
The tires protrude out past the edge of the quarter panel.

That's not the quarter panel..
|
Quater panel, fenders, whatever. You get the point.

Killjoy- lower that thing some more! inch up front, 1.5" in back, and it would look quite a bit better IMO. Still looks good though.
|
It's actually about 1.5 drop from stock. I can't go very low living in Houston (suck ass roads), unless I want body damage. I have a front lip for it...and I have considered a bodykit though.

Body kit? :gotrice: j/k |
LOL... I agree about the rice thing. That's why I haven't done it.

Nice 'vert Killjoy.

I think 17s are about perfect. I have run 18s before with no fitment issues and they did look sweet. I run 16s on my FC (in sig) and am fairly happy with them but still regret not getting 17s.
|
Take a look at my website photo gallery for hundreds of FC pics of all types. I have no info on any of them. Sorry for the small pics; my web designer saw fit to make all the pics really little for load times.
http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/2ndgen/gallery.html Also take a look at my old rx7s, they ran 18s as well. |
18's UP FRONT only look good if the car has a kit on it, imho.

how about running an off set like a 17 up front with 18 on the back just thought please dont hate too much on such a noob question
|
see,i think 18s look good on an fc to a certain extent (really depends on the wheel and ride height) but from a driveability standpoint, they SUCK!! you have to run super low profile tires, whick causes you to have a very high risk of damaging the rims if you hit just a small pothole going too fast. not to mention how much heavier 18s are!. i have 18s on my fd and they fit it perfectly, but the fc i keep a set of vert wheels because they only weigh 11 pounds!!! the downside to vert wheels is with my setup they have some serious traction problems, but at this point it's kinda fun. one of these days ill put some 17s on it.
in the end (imo) 18s are really only good on an fc if it is a show car. |
18's with wide body
My car is still in the body shop. Been there for two years now. The shop quoted me a price that was too cheap not to have them do the work. He also said they could do it in two weeks, but I knew that was about impossible. Should be finished up in about a month. I'll post some pics of the finished ride. The black FC3S shown previously was mine before the body work started (see previous postings by my brother -> mfp10thann).

Best FC Ever...

my 2 cents
18 with a slight tuck looks pretty nice 18 on mild drop height looks like a jeep wrangler |

I have 18x8 18x9 Work Emotions XD-9 waiting to go on my car Will post pictures when there on!!
I just need to find the right Tire size, any one with the help? |
18's are fine on an FC .... AS LONG AS YOU DONT RUN FAT SIDEWALL TIRES!
Rishies FCs are perfect examples of why they can fit well on an FC with a low profile tire. some widths on an 18" tire have a lower overall tire diameter than in 17" because of shorter sidewalls. mustang/camaro use much taller tires and they can look really stupid on an FC, like 4x4 or innertube style = lame. case in point... my FC on 17" wheels with 275 and 285 tires was almost goofy with tires at 26" o.d., but now with 18" 285/295 in 30 series sidewalls yields a 25" o.d. so the car is a half inch lower to the ground and also a half inch more clearance to the top of the inner fender. here's my wide FC on 18" ssr sp1s (sorry the paint blows)- http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...7_146_full.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...7_145_full.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...7_144_full.jpg |
