D2 Racing sport suspension?
Anyone have any comments about D2 Street suspension system? Any positive or negative feedback? im trying to figure out what suspension to buy.
http://www.d2racingsport.com/type-street.htm Rubber upper mount of street McPherson coilover is for your options 36 different dampening adjustments Use SAE9254 materials for spring to avoid changing shape and 6061 aluminium to avoid the rusty when it snows. To adjust the bottom mount to reach the ride height desired and no need to compress the spring. Use the spring bearing to avoid the unusual sound when turning the steering wheel. The ride height can be dropped 120mm from OE ride height. |
better save up and get something better ...

d2 is like megan/k-sport status.
low budget mystery meat quality. |
d2 is exactly ksport. which is coilovers on a budget for sure. Megan racing seems a step above, for the same price.

D2 = Crap
Megan = Crap. Would not run either. |
I dont think they're crap. Better than no coilovers, that's for sure. The dapening adjustment isn't as great as it could be but they are ok for the money.
I'd run pbm or BC coilovers over anything else in that price range. Even tein basics.... To the op, rx7club is full of haters with money to burn. I have jic coils myself but if i didn't pay a 1/4 of the price for them, i wouldn't have them. I would have waited and bought bc's or pbm's instead. Go on zilvia.net and do a search on d2 coilovers. I'm sure you'll get honest "I'VE USED THESE BEFORE" answers. |
They are shiny, so they must work well. :jerkit: Ask Zilvia, which about 95% ricers.
They can't even use proper grammer (and English is the language of engineering) on their website. Doesn't this concern you at all? |
um, no?
zilvia generally hates the shit out of megans/d2/ksports. i remember years ago when d2's first came out they did a super early group buy on zilvia. shit, i almost bought a set. well, since they came out so early on zilvia, alot of the big problems also popped up early on zilvia. d2 sucks; i seriously doubt zilvia would tell you otherwise. as for what they think now, there's two competing schools of thought for suspension on zilvia. #1 the "who gives a fuck as long as it drifts" group - expensive japanese shit owns #2 the "we care about damping" group - revalved bilsteins/konis/etc + gc coilovers + eibach springs > your shitty japanese crap |

...oh wait, nevermind Car: 88gxl daily driven drifter |
Well, i got around 1000e to spend, any ideas what suspension to get? bear in mind that i live here where all parts need to be ordered from japan or from Uk so...
how about http://www.rx7store.net/product_p/apexiexv.htm |
That, or stance GR+/GR+ Pro, Tein Flex are good options.

IrishRX7 with the orange rx7 has a huge D2 decal on his hood. He could prob. give some actual first hand information.

I would rather put megan racing coils on rather than ground control bullshit. I ran gc coilovers on my gtx and it just isnt the greatest idea the set screws are always backing off and that makes everything go crazy. unless your tracking your car and you know your way around tuning suspension you wont notice the "lack of quality" in the megan racing coils. Or hey go BC they are excellent from what i hear
