Cross-Drilled Slotted VS Cross-Drilled
which works better or are they same? currently i have 4 Cross-Drilled rotors and i just got new brake pads so i'm thinking about geting CD-slotted rotors for the front.
thanks guys:) |
Im not sure about the crossdrilled and slotted but I have heard that cross-drilled are more likely to stress crack than slotted. Someone confirm this for me.

Heard the same. Alot of road racers like the blanks/stocks, or the slotted with a good set of pads.

I heard that if you cryogen "freeze" the cross drilled then it shoulded crack under stress, if your rich go for it, Im not so Im going slotted.

Fricken waste of time to drill rotors...

Not to name drop, but BREMBO (NA) Chief Engineer designed his/my (track centric) FD with slotted rotor all around. Get the feeling his design choice speaks for itself!

a lot of racers like blanks since they know cross drilled is just for show!

cpa7man, Thanks for the respects! Unfortunately, haven't had all that much of a chance to really shake it down due to my heavy cruise schedule this year. There's always next year. ;)
Back to the topic at hand, I fully appreciate the aesthetic appeal of cross drilled rotors. I've also often wonder why an OEM manufacturer with a legacy of braking prowess such as Porsche still uses cross drill rotors in their cars? I hope against hope that it's not just for the looks... perhaps I'm still naive. That said, I'm sticking to slots and solids. |
