Correct offset?
When it comes to wheels. I'm a noob.
Help me out. 17x8 in the front 17x9.5 in the rear. What is the correct offset. Stock fenders Thank you |
fronts plus 30 or higher and rears plus 45 or higher if u dont want to roll the fenders. or u can follow the link in the stickey for more precise info

You want it to look OEM or you want it to look aggressive? How much tire you want to run?

Search on posts from goodfellafd3s on this. He posted some great specs on similar sizes.

Not quite identical, but I've run 17x8.5 and 17x10 with +37 and +43 for many years, 245/40 and 275/40 tires.

i have 17x9 plus 45 with 245 front and 17 x 9.5 plus 40 rear with 275. the fitment is good. however i had to roll the rear fenders very slightly. but appearance wise its pretty ideal if u ask me. they say u can do 265 in rear with no rolling. one thing though 275 40 tires have a pretty tall sidewall which i dont love. goodfellas mentioned this to me and its stuck in my head. he was right.
i got enkei rpf1s. they are very lite and pretty mild setup aestically for us older guys. i really recommend them. great fd fitments. |
for the wheels i want. best offset I can find for the rear is 17x9 - 35mm or 17x9.5 30mm :(
Same for 18's They have the fronts in 17x8 32mm, 45mm and 48mm |
My wheels are 17x8 and 17x9, both +35. I bought them for my old FC and kept the wheels when I sold it and bought the FD. Never rubbed, but I DO have coilover suspension.

would this work
17x8 +48 for the front. 17x8 +35 for the rear. I dont know. I'm lost haha |
17x9.5 is only available in +30 offset for rears
|
Pick a different wheel or follow the steps below.
What wheel is it anyway? Don't do 8" in the rear. It's not worth wasting the money. Since you're in Socal and Torrance of all places just get your rear fenders rolled nicely. Should only cost you about $80.00. Get the 17x8 +32 front with a 225/45/17 and the 17x9.5 +30 rear with a 255/40/17. If you don't want to roll the rears you can do the 9 +35 with the same tire size and no fender mods. Do a minor roll on the rear fender and for the front fender simply take the fender liner bolt at the center of the fender arch and put it behind the tab. Fold the tab back towards the fender and tie it together with a ziptie. Use a rubber vaccuum hose to put over the ziptie so it doensn't tear through the hole in the plastic fender liner. Rishie |
18 x 9.5 +29
any chance of these fitting on an FD? how much, if any, fender rolling is needed? thanks |

why not 17 x 8 all around? so i can rotate tires on the track. gahh i hate wheel stuff.

Why would you spend money on wheels and tires when you're keeping the width the same as the stock wheels :dunno: |

If you want to rotate just make it simple on yourself and buy the infamous
RPF1 17x9 +45 offset. Then you can run 255/40/17 all the way around on stock fenders and have a very balanced, lightweight setup. azn akira's car: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y20...s/PICT3065.jpg Rishie |
dont you need at least 18's to be able to use larger brakes?
|
^ No, also, vampires don't sparkle.

Once you educate yourself, you won't hate it :)
Why would you spend money on wheels and tires when you're keeping the width the same as the stock wheels :dunno: I wanted Rota Torque's or Rota Torque Drift (not available in U.S.) so.. I guess I'm going to settle for some matt black 5zigens 17x8 in the front ...17x9 in the rear http://www.wheelsnext.com/images/whe...K)_BLK_2_W.jpg ^5zigen http://www.lancerregister.com/attach...1&d=1205136923 ^ Torque Drift (more concave than normal Torque) |
Right.... if you want 8 inch width, the stock wheels make great track wheels (assuming you don't have a BBK).
17x8,9 is fine but you may want to consider 17x9 +45ish offset with 255/40 front and rear, it's a popular track setup and gives a wider contact patch for increased braking ability. You also can rotate them as a bonus to improve treadlife. |

so +35 works well on FD's and FC's when useing a 17inch wheel ? i allways thought that FD could take wider wheels, could that +45 in the rear work for FC's as well ?
|
Offset varies on width.
So +35 in a 12" wide wheel won't fit, but +35 in a 9" wide wheel will fit in the rear. AS FOR FN01RC, THEY ARE NOT CONCAVE UNLESS YOU RUN 10" WIDE. BEST FN01RC SETUP WOULD BE 17X9 +43 http://5zigenusa.com/products/wheel/.../fn01rc/17.gif Rishie |
