Baer two peice drilled/sloted rotors

Web page "here". Well I called for a price quote and ovcourse the don't carry it for the RX-7. Since they are built in the US I expected them to be 1/2 the cost of PROJECT MU's . I asked if they would do a group buy of 10+. He said "NO"! He said he would only do a run if a company did the purchase and the min' would be 100. ok, screw you very much! :moon:

TireRack has them now. I wonder if they'd be more helpful?

GoRacer 04-21-03 08:26 PM

No, cause Baer is the manufacturer and they said they don't make it for our car. I doubt we could get a group buy of 100 peices much less 100 sets. He understood a group buy as 100 people with 100 different credit cards, so he said he would only make them if a company special ordered the minimum amount of 100. Whether it was 100ea, 100 pairs 100 sets of F/R pairs, I don't know. He didn't sound like he gave a shit one way or the other! That's too bad, I think it's a better bang for the buck then an upgraded brake kit since bigger rotors aren't necessarily better then efficient cooler ones in OEM seize. Project Mu's are $650/pair, so if we could have got them for $300/pair they would have ruled but instead they are stinky snail poop.

Fuck Baer... remember not to use their products when they DO have something that fits... I can't believe the attitude of some vendors in these economic conditions. If they don't need your money now, i'm sure they won't need it later. Forward this to the person you spoke to.

Bah, screw 'em. What you really want is to get 99RS spec brakes, and then go in on our little two-piece replacement rotor project: :)

Does Baer make their own rotors or do they use the generic blanks from China that everybody else uses? If the latter's the case, then don't waste your time and money .... slotted and drilled, NOT formed = cracked rotors.

GoRacer 04-28-03 06:58 PM

I called them back to get a price quote. Basically they make mostly big brake kits and mostly for domestic muscle cars although they have jumped on the Honda bandwagon for replacement rotors.

Since they have absolutlely no idea what an RX-7 is, I asked for a price quote for a Corvette Z06. They sell the replacement rotors for $1100 for the front pair!

OK, so what would be the group buy discout for 100 pairs? He has no idea. I should ask the retailer doing the group buy. Ok so what is the wholesale cost to the retailer? He has absolutley no idea. :wtf:

Forget it, i'd rather ask Rotaryextreme to do a group buy on Projet Mu two peice rotors instead. :thumbd:

OK. If I got these made i need you guys to tell me the diameter of the rotors desired, stock or not, and what you'd really honestly be willing to pay.

This will tell me if we're being realistic or not. I could get these made with lesser orders.

Let me know ASAP,

Rishie.....I've been looking for some upgrade brakes for my car for a while, but nobody really makes many for the FC. Since I already have 4piston calipers, I don't feel like buying new ones, but I would like to run a larger rotor since Torque = ForcexDistance, it would help out a lot. If you could find me a larger brake upgrade designed to work w/ stock calipers that would be sweet. Let me know. Also, do you know if FD front calipers will fit on an FC or not? I might just take my brother's off for a day since his motor's blown and see if they fit....

Natty....

How about using Skyline 2 peice rotors?

http://www.bozzperformance.com/jdm_m...agic_brake.htm

As for the rotor group buy - Rishie
Since Project Mu 2-peice sloted rotors cost $650/pair then I would want to pay less then that. I would say $500 or $600 for the Baers drilled/sloted 2-peice front pair.

ARD T2 04-29-03 09:16 PM

Sounds good. Do guys want two piece OEM size rotors for the front and rear.

Natty,

I have a big brake kit for the FC front and rear. Two piece rotors and shit bro. i'll be posting shortly once I get the set on my car.
