AVON Tires, Tech M550 A/S
Anyone tried out the new Avon Tech All Season tires. I've worn out my Dunlop AS2's and looking to move up to 17" rims and some good handling tires. From my research it appears that for the price and quality the AVONs by Cooper Tire are the best buy on the market at this time and Tire Rack is one of the few dealers for this brand.

So no one has tried these tires or knows someone who has? They have the highest user rating for performance tires on TireRack.

If you want a performance tire, you need to stop looking at "all season" tires....

Here is a link to a Tire Rack page for the Avon Tech M550 A/S. On this page you will be able to find test results, customer surveys, and performance comparisons. Hopefully this will help you out. If i can be of any further assistance just let me know.

I'll mount the tires and replace the OEM 15" wheels that have been on the car for 16 years and then refinish the factory wheels for special occassions. |

I've run the Tech M500 for the past year. Its not A/S or an all out performance tire. They have been great in the rain and are sticky enough to gobble up other cars at HPDE's. The nice thing about lower perormance tires is that because of their lower limits they are more fun on the street and better to learn on.
