Another Wheel question (FD3S)...

I PM'ed Rishie last week asing the same question no response yet... I also read all the wheel post but everybodys perception on it fits is different. I'm looking for a new set and Volk finally makes a few more offsets with concave that will work.

I want dual purpose setup functional with no compromise of driveability. This must work for track as well Ohlins 11k, AP BBK and 470whp.

Agressive setup more concave rear only We know this will work less concave on rear
18x10 +30 and 18x9.5+40 18x10 +40 and 18x9 +40

Now I don't mind rolling the fenders but no pulling.

Current mods:
Aftermarket arms
slight roll
Coilovers
25" ride height
1.5" camber all the way around
235/275 Hankook RS-3's tapers in

I appreciate any help on this matter as you only get 1 chance to get it right with ordering

A conservative fitment is one that is in-between the offset ranges. A 9.5 +29 will work in the rear insofar as it will stick just as far out towards the fender as an 11 in +48 wheel. That said, there is no reason to run a 9.5 +29 wheel as you can easily find a better offset that does not have all the problems of fender rolling associated with it. I have included what I believe to be the ideal offset for the listed wheel width. The ideal will not require a fender roll to fit the wheel provided you have a 25 in overall diameter tire in the front and have stiffer than stock suspension. The exceptions to this rule are the 10.5 and 11 in wide rear wheel which will both require a fender roll.

The look I'm going for but to aggressive for me with the pulled fenders. Not sure but looks like 18x9.5 +22 and 18x8.5 +40.

If you want TE37's, I would personally run 18x9.5 +22 rear and 18x9.5 +35 fronts. Throw on 255/35/18 *proper* performance tires (RS-3, StarSpecs, etc.) or even R-comps. Roll your fenders flat all the way around, and you will be good.

The front +35 wheels will have less concavity. I would space them an extra 5mm, as well.

With your ride height and camber settings, I highly doubt you'll encounter any rubbing issues if your fenders are rolled flat. An ideal setup would require fender rolling as a prerequisite, otherwise you will be stuck with weak sizing. I guess this part is all subjective, though.

FYI, RavSpec is having somewhat of a clearance on a few TE37 models and colors.

Thanks for the info, I called RaveSpec they only have rears in stock.

Here is a 18x9.5 +22 245's 26" ride height and 1.5" camber. This really doesn't work for me...

Why are you considering anything other than the 18x10 +40 front and rear?

That would net you the most conservative fitment (closer stock +50 offset = less fender rolling), the least scrub radius (closest to stock offset) and the most width of the choices you presented.

Your right but at the same time I love a staggered look on a fd; remember I'm looking for a dual purpose setup not just track.

I would rather have flat faced wheels then the same concaved wheels all the way around.

I think I found my answer. Rich's old car was a Beauty, I still like black better though.

Let me rephase on a stock body fd. I would go concaved on all 4 with 17" wheels or 18" wheels with fender overs and wider front fenders.
