9.5's on Front too much?
Anyone tried 9.5 +42's on the front wheels on their FD. This would be running 255's with maybe a 35 side wall.. i'm not into stretching tires and according to the fd fitment xls this would put me .1 inches too wide for the wheel well.
So my question is would this be an aggressive fender roll or a mild one? My preference is to run 9.5/8.5 staggered but there is a used set of wheels I'm am eying that are all 9.5 inches wide. I think its too much but the offset almost makes it work. What do you guys think? |
A very slight pull and you should be fine. I was running 18x9.5 +45 with 265/35r18 up front with no issues.

Sorry that was a few years ago, I switch wheels alot. :) There is another member here running about the same sizes in enkei nt03+M wheels. I believe his username is "hondasr4kids". You can try searching for his pictures.
*Edit*- Got it for you: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/finally-officially-back-fd-920893/ |
Thanks, his fitment looks really good actually. I'll send him a PM on his suspension.
As for my suspension, right now it is stock, but to go with the new wheels I am leaning towards the racing beat springs. I like they way that kit drops the back more than the front as I personally think the front needs a very marginal drop from stock.

Oh and i should have mentioned, though you guys figured out, that I'm talking 18 inch wheels.
|
I would personally advise against the rb springs. They are a good bit lower than stock, with low springrates. I pulled my fender lip running stock wheels with rb springs.
|
Thanks for the feedback ^^
I didn't realize the spring rate was so low. I'll do some checking up on it to see how they compare to tein s-tech and some others. |
I've posted about it many times, but on my track setup I run a 18x9.5 +45 and 255/35 with stock fenders. No problems, but they baaaarely work with the unmodified fenders. You'll be ok with a slight roll.
