I just installed an safc2 and am working out the kinks. I never had the first version, but I think the main difference is knock sensor functionality.

Air Flow Setting choose 8point 12point
Air Flow Engine RPM every 500rpm 200rpm
Drive Voltage Circuit Safety None more stable
Display Monitor Adjustment None setting up display (air flow/pressure)
Other Functions None -Knocking Monitor
-Digital Display
-Setting Memory Xfunction
-Warning function
-Password
-Lock function

instead of going to the dyno ... you guys can buy the PLX wide band kit to monitor your AFR through-out the rpm band. and tune with that
