OK Racking my brain

Although some may feel impelled to shout out all the answers at once, please refrain. I am looking for someone in the OKC area with a keen understanding of the 1st gen rx7 to come to my house and help me figure out the problem with this car. I have rebuilt the carb, taken off the clogged cat, and have replaced the spark plugs, wires, distributor cap & rotor; yet she still purrs like a cat with terrets syndrome.

Yes, steak is on the menu for whomever this person is.

LOL...Steak sounds good, doesn't it.

I messed around with it for a while a couple hours after that post. kept on tweaking both screws and messing with the timing. Have it just about right, but I know it should idle around 750-850 and I am stuck between 900-1000. It is running way better, even seems to have a little pep to it.

I don't want to push it too hard cuz I have 10 year old tires on it and it is not quite aligned correctly. Also, some new struts all around it couldn't hurt...but for the neighborhood drive, it is fine.

Took it for another spin this morning. Driving okay. Little bit of bog at first when pressing the gas, but once it gets past that, it's obviously pumping gas in there...it wants to go. Gonna price tires, any thoughts on tires; that stock size seems a bit hard to find.

If you're on Facebook - the group i started has two great rotary mechanics and is growing. Jeff Hershey & Brad Golden of Rotary Inspired Performance - They would be able to help you with any problems you're having
