Oh, ok. We will see soons. Build should be ready to boost in a few weeks. Going for 400. Anyways, how are things going janrx7?

i agree.. tweak you should have been making more power on that set up you had for sure. but nothing some tuning wont fix i bet you make good power this next motor

Update. My clutch started slipping with this power level. (429whp). It is a cusco clutch with lightend flywheel. Bought it used, so i don't know what was the torque rating. Either way i bought a new ACT 4 puck race disc with xtreme pressure plate. Torque ratings is 577lb/tq. So i don't think i will break this any time soon.

I am still struggling with the boost controller/wastegate problem. IT doesn't want to go under 15psi. I am going to open it today to check the color of the spring. I am going to put a spring for 10psi. The only problem is, when i want to tune for 23psi, i am going to have a hard time to reach that psi with a small 10psi spring. SO would i have to be exchanging springs all the time?

What's the problem with your lowest boost being 15 psi? I don't think you'll make it to 23 psi with a 10 psi spring as you mentioned.

Also, good luck driving the car with that clutch. There are many good sprung 6 puck options, not sure why you chose the 4 puck.......hell, the base full faced disc has been proven to hold up to 500 rwhp on a 13B with that extreme pp :)

The problem with the 15psi, is that my car was tuned on Sunoco 109 octane gas @15psi. The plan is to use 10psi on pump gas. (Rated 89 octane). And raise the boost to 15psi with the race gas on the track. But in the future, when i retune to 23psi, i will struggle with this spring.

SO should i retune 15psi with pump 89? Switch springs everyhing time i want to raise the boost?

The 4 puck is not that difficult to drive in. I went for the 4 puck, because it holds better than the 6 puck.

89 octane might be pushing it with 15psi on the street, even if it's a conservative tune. 1 bad batch of 89 and you could be in trouble... Consider AI??? That way you could leave it at 15 psi no problem, and still have room to up it w/ race gas.

GoodfellaFD3S 09-29-09 09:03 PM

89 is the highest octane available to you at the pump?

Yes. I live in The Dominican Republic(Tiny caribbean island) . I just replaced the wastegate spring for a softer one. I am putting 11psi on a low boost setting.15psi on high boost. Just hope that when the day comes,(i get the money for bigger injectors) and i want to push 23psi, that spring will give it to me. If not put back the old spring, 15psi minimal, and just accelarate the car until it hits 11psi and then shift. jajaja

I think you'll be alright with the 11 lb spring and 23 psi. Thats what i currently have, and it's controlling the boost. 11 psi off, 15 psi low and 23 psi hi. The AI is a good idea though, then you could stick that 15 lb spring back in and not worry about it.
