This is just bad to the bone.

cummins was running their old variable turbos off of boost pressure. I wonder if a 2005 era turbo off a ISB or ISC would work. the newer ones are all ECU controlled.

Their old turbos had a 2 vanes. A low RPM vane and high RPM vane, not like the newer versions.

We had a cutaway ISX in our lobby for years. Wish I would have taken some pics of the turbo.

There is no new Powerstroke. Ford designed their own engine dubbed the Scorpion.

They still call it PowerStroke

I am excited for this new ford engine, it should be interesting what it can do.

the 2003-2006 6.0L powerstroke has the variable turbo also

The variable vanes are duty controlled with oil pressure (or at least they were on the old variable turbos with just hotside vanes). I have a bunch of Ford technician training stuff on it. it's not something that can be easily implemented into an aftermarket application.

if there was a non vnt version I wonder how they would work on a 13B! Not this exact size but something along the line of a GT35 with twin comp wheels?!

The holset HE351ve is used on the dodge rams, it's computer controlled and electronically actuated, also has a built in speed sensor.
