turbo storage
is there any better way of storing my single turbo untill i'm ready to put it on? Right now I have it in a box with some news paper. Is there anything I should do to protect the oil seals and what not?

Nah, just the usually "keep in a cool dry" area recommendation.  Keep Node's cats away from the thing - cat hairs are evil! :)

what if you stuff Node's cat into the turbo wile its spinning? j/k:D

You can keep it in my closet right beside my t-78 :)

All your dormant turbos are belong to Schmiddles

Really? Just set it aside with no oil in it?
I put a little fogging oil (oil specially designed for storing engines) in the oil inlet and drain and spun it a few times. Just to be sure. :) Not that it matters, looking at it the other day I noticed that one of the compressor blades is a little bent. (!) Oh well, worked fine before! |
The turbos should have been assembled with some type of assembly oil, so the internals are supposed to be lightly lubricated.  If your shop doesn't use assembly oil, I'd highly suggest to find a new one. :)
