S372?

Anyone have any input on the Bullseye S372? Looking at using one with a half bridge. Basically I would go with the 400 series but I have a T4 manifold I'd like to use. I believe the 372 compressor would do the trick nicely for my purposes but how does the 1.25 hotside flow?

Edit: I'm sure you've already seen that page...so I fail. :)

You know how my 1.32 flows ;) The Half-Bridge should have no problem spooling that 1.25.

Under the S372, it looks like there are multiple turbine sizes. Do you know which one you have?

C. Ludwig 07-29-08 10:17 AM

The big one. ;)

Not worried about spooling it. More concerned about it being a bottleneck.

I'm running one of the big ones, and at 12psi at 6k rpms on a full bridgeport, i made 470. I'm not even in my peak power for the turbo yet, my ecu wouldn't allow it on the dyno, so i'm switchin to another. But if the ecu would allow it, I wouldve rev'd to 9.5k and probably make somewere around 600 on pump. I'll ask Ray at PFS when he gives me a call in a bit for the specs.

Thanks for the info. ;)

Decent turbo for sure.

I was hoping you would respond. What else in that price range/size range might you suggest?

are these rebadged borg-warner turbos or something? Or is the nomenclature just similar?

C. Ludwig 07-30-08 07:29 PM

FWIW I borrowed an S374 w/ the 1.25 hotside and race cover today and sat it on a cast HKS FD manifold I had on the shelf. To my surprise the turbo cleared everything very well on the FD engine. I figured a compressor housing of that size wouldn't clear the engine but it does very well.

They are BW turbos. Not sure exactly what Bullseye does with the turbos if anything. Seems like everyone that sells the BW turbos is a "Bullseye" reseller.

There's some big numbers being put down on those S## turbos. And the race cover? That's a serious setup there.

C. Ludwig 07-30-08 08:05 PM

Yeah, after handling this thing today I'm pretty moist between the legs for one. The cover is just like the one you posted the pic of. Guy I borrowed the turbo off of is putting it on an SR20.

That turbo will put out pretty good numbers consider it similar to a GT42. The larger turbine wheel is better though ;) I don't care for the T4 on such large wheels but that is me.

I run the billet wheel version of that same basic unit. Its built in house by the guys at fi-engineeing.com. They actually build units in house...not re-package and sell box units. Might want to give them a shout. Also the GT42 is no slouch either....it makes great HP and the DBB option is great as well.

I had the opportunity to check out the S480 in person over at Majestic.....I think that will be my next route.

I've been looking at this turbo for quite some time. Most of the cars with a S372 are making a LOT of power but this is on a Honda. If you get it, please let us know how much power you make and more importantly how it recovers between shifts.

ludwig is this going in your FD?

it's actually going to run wtf?

i'm going to have to see this with my own eyes

C. Ludwig 08-17-08 12:29 PM

It'll run someday. I've had an engine built for the car since January but have had no time to do anything else. Have a huge pile of parts that just needs to be assembled.
