quiet fuel pump upgrades
Hi I've been looking to replace my walbro, with something more quiet. Was thinking about the Aeromotive Stealth, possibly a 044, but came across this 265l/hr pump
Fuel Pumps : DW65c Compact In-Tank Fuel Pump | DeatschWerks any one have experiance or info with this one? OI like the fact that they have a 3 year warranty on it TIA |
044 loud
walbro 400 quiet stealth 340 quietest(i couldn't even hear it on a stock FD while priming with no background noise, it is quieter than the stock pump) no experience with the DW pump. the walbro and stealth will give you plenty of headroom for upgrades later on, almost unrestricting your horsepower levels to a cap of about 600whp even with stock hard fuel lines and rails(if you could fit large enough injectors in them). the new walbro is much quieter than the old 255 as well. |
Karack, i know previously that the Walbro was prone to failure and a lot of knock-offs out there. How is the new Walbro (400) compared to the Supra pump (Denso) in terms of quality and is 500whp acheivable with a single walbro?

post #52 has my recent review of some common pumps with the exception of the 044, which is a fine alternative but very noisy and difficult to place due to its monstrous size and adapters required to fit it in-tank.
https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generati...-972162/page3/ if you have a series 5 or FD you should consider routing the pump wiring through bulkhead connectors, which is a main reason why pumps fail by feeding through the small 4 pin connectors on top of the tank and burn up the wiring. this applies to any pump above the standard FD or TII pumps, although the cosmo pump seems to be ok as well. |
I had the Walbro 255 and swapped for a 400, it's extremely quiet!

Stealth 340lph here. I immediately noticed how much quieter it is compared to my Supra pump. As mentioned, it has got guts. I have personally seen it handle 520whp.

I sell them to most of my customers driving their cars on the road. I have one in my racecar and it's been great so far. Going to drop in the Walbro 400 come spring as I'm going to need a little more fuel. Let me know if you want one I have two extras.

assuming your running intank ?

I had a walbro 400lph and swapped it back to the 255lph. Something with no loud priming sound just didn't feel right on a race car.

Ive swapped my old walbro 255 for the stealth 340 and it is damn quiet. Compared to the bosch 044, the 340 is like a full straight pipe with no mufflers, to an electric car lol.
