open or closed loop (BOV)?

I was trying to figure out what would be the best and safest way to run a greddy type-S BOV.(I heard sometimes your ecu and mass air. will think that theres more air in the intake after the sensor when theres not causing it run crappy) I know the stock set up on my 88T2 is closed loop but I was wondering if I would run into any problems running open loop set up. Would I have to worry about running too lean or rich?

Any problems w/ it stalling? I was screwing around w/ my stock bov and tried to run it so it didn't vent into the intake so I could just here it but the car kept stalling. Will a greddy type S do the same? (running open-vented)
