450rwhp @ 17psi on a race ported engine with conservative timing...full 17 psi at 4000rpm

There are quite a few 35R RX-7's sitting above 400rwhp on pump gas. It's all about porting and tuning. Stock ports will surely limit you up top. :)

Jason, you don't have the video of you beating the CBR on the highway in your old FD anymore? I know it was one of the Diesel Digital videos.

DAMN!!!! That is a gorgeous FD!!!!!! Surely one of the cleanest and most tastefully done FD's I've seen in a long time. Plus yours has the horsepower to go with the looks. Great car bro. You must be very very proud! I know I would be. :)

Thanks man.. im still deciding on putting a wing on it. I really like the 98 spec efini whale tail wing, but i dont want to hurt the look of the car.... I need some downforce though

BoostedRex 09-07-05 08:14 PM

Are you talking about the '96-'98 wing? I like that one. I was planning on putting that on my FD when I still had it. The Feed wing looks REALLY good to and I don't think it would throw off the look of the car. Just a thought.

GoodfellaFD3S 09-07-05 10:29 PM

my best bud's FD had that wing. I think your car would look killer with it :)

Mfanto 09-08-05 11:16 AM

What do you guys think Feed, or whale tail? I have the whale tail wing already I just havent got myself to put it on yet. I have never seen the feed wing in real life.

scooterrx-7 09-08-05 11:57 AM

Feed.. and get it over here:)

Ah, no. It's the same damn turbo. GT40's weren't even out back then. Trust me, I have the same exact turbo on my car.

YES! The Garrett boxes that package the RX7Store's 35Rs, actually have a lable that says GT35/40R.

Do it! You saw mine and liked it, now it's time to mount yours!

jacobcartmill 09-08-05 01:15 PM

so the NEW "gt35r" is the same thing as the old gt35/40

i'm assuming they changed the compressor?

Yes! Correct! Absolutely! Without a doubt! Positively! No question about it!

Identical in every way!

The 35R is a Garrett turbo. The 35/40 is the street name for some people. It comes from the fact that it runs the 82mm compressor wheel from the GT40. Some one back in the day called them 35/40's and it stuck. Kinda like T3/T4. If you want to get more confused the actual Garrett Model number is GT3571

so its a gt35 hotside, ball bearing center section, and a gt40 compressor, labeled as "the new gt35r"

thank you. this is all i needed to know. we all win.

Mfanto 09-08-05 06:12 PM

I had a run with a 2002 Porsche turbo. 3rd gear roll, and I pulled on him pretty nice. Thanks Jason! :)

Mfanto 09-08-05 06:16 PM

Rotarded, Im guessing your Mike. haha. I did like the wing on your car thats why im thinking of putting it on. I am just worried about the paint match, and putting holes in my car... I think im gonna go for it though. Just wish i could find more pics of Red FD's with the whale tail spoiler 98spec efini.. any pics would be sweet.
