My wastegate messed up on me (pics)
 

Yesterday, I was trying to tune my 12a turbo. she is still running lean. about 13~14 on the wideband. Enough to make the exhaust manifold glow. Anyways about 1/2 mile from home my exhaust just gets ungodly loud. Took me a secound, but my wastegate was stuck in the open position. No boost, nothing, but she wasnt running lean;)

Tonight was a beautiful night, went out to take the wastegate off. I dont even know how to explain what happen to the wastegate. pictures are worth a thousand words. Tomorrow, will call a couple turbo places and see if I can get a replacement piece.

I wonder if they make freeze plugs that big. I think I might be able to put a washer on the other side for a fix. Clean up the jagged metal and sandwich it between washers. What you guys think?

who makes the wastegate?

It's old, the kit that it came has SIGMA on the carb hat and exhaust manifold. I believe it that is the old name of BLITZ. The only thing I really know about it is it's not in production anymore.
