Manifold question

Will divided manifold work with a non divided turbo?

why not just do it right?

Yes, it will work, just not as well as a divided turbine housing. You can purchase those seperatly.

The manifold you used as an example is for an external wastegate setup. Turbo goes on one part. Wastegate on another. You still run the exhaust from the hot side of the turbo.

no one asked about this...but good observation

Turbo goes on one part.
I think he knows this...

Wastegate on another.
Pretty sure we all realize this...

You still run the exhaust from the hot side of the turbo.
not the cold side in this case?

but you are right...

I have a similar setup and I know what Im talkin about.
as you've pointed out above.

Do you not understand?
not at all...he asked about a non-divided turbine housing on a divided manifold, you clearly answered everything but his question.

and I'm bored today...

.. he's asking about using a divided manifold in conjunction with a non-divided turbine housing, not about the wastegate setup or where the downpipe connects to (which he most likely knows). The pictures he supplied are of a turbo with an undivided turbine housing and a divided manifold just in case the respondant was confused about his question..

Got that. But the divided manifold that he supplied is for an external wastegate setup. I was just sayin...

Yes it works just fine. It's no worse than a cast log style manifold and actually still has the benefit of keeping the pulses separate and strong right up to the turbo. Use it and don't worry about it. It isn't a divided housings equal but it's not going to be any different than any other non divided turbo in terms of how well it works.

Currently I'm running a non-divided turbo on a divided manifold (HKS Log) with no problems. I'm swapping to a different turbo in a week or two, which is divided, but not because this one doesn't perform well or anything, but because it is a loaner.

Thanks guys. you were all a big help.

That manifold you used as an example is for an RX-7 and the turbo is used to compress air!! I know what I am talking about. Do you not understand?
