i got my holset hx52
well it finally got here, holset hx52, going on my 1990 turbo with a mild street port, 1600cc injectors in all 4 corners, e85 fuel, haltech e6k, hks cast manifold, 44mm wastegate, hks exhaust, not sure what size intercooler piping i want to use yet. hoping for some good numbers from this piece, cant go to big because the motor wasnt doweled when we rebuilt it. i will post pics when the car comes apart and then after tearbo has his way with it.

Is that T4 flanged? And if ya dont mind me askin, how much that run ya?
this is gonna be fun !!!!:)
you have to modify the bolt holes but it will work with a t4 flange, i got it for 500, the comp wheel is 67mm, the exhaust wheel is 70mm, and the housing is a 16cm^2.

So you put this thing on yet? Mine is running now just tring to tune it and also getting another muffler the HBP is soo soo LOUD. I love it but neighbors dont. Im running 3" intercooler piping. Is your motor rebuilt? Did you stay with a S5 engine? How mush boost are going to be running?
no s5 motor, i had already street ported and rebuilt a s4 so i just dropped it in, i wish mine was bridgeport, as far as boost goes, i will go as much as i can until i feel that the motor is going to take it. probably around 420 or so horse power.
Nice turbo! I'll be getting an H1E with 22cm housing. I'll be using a Shook Motorsports manifold and DP so spool won't be too bad.
Good luck with your setup! Reese |
thanks man, good luck on yours.
looking good - how is the passenger side brake line?
its fine
Holset has their new HSS-Pro70. Its a T4 flanged unit with HSS-70mm wheel and 82mm turbine wheel. Sucker rocked on a 2JZ a local fellow built. Came on boost early and made some big numbers.
where was it when i was shopping
That is always the case. Holset now has their new HSS (Holset Super Series) line of units slowly releasing.
This is on 14.6psi?
yep, a 1 bar spring
Looking good what oil pressure are you running before turbo and what size restrictor into the turbo? How does it pull? I just drove mine for the first time today just got it where i can go around the street and start playing I still have lots of tuning to do. Looking good though.
i just used the stock oil line, hacked it in the middle and had my friends at a hydraulic shop join the two pieces at the length i needed. no restrictor, just the stock oil line size.
What was the torque? Also what did it put down peak hp and torque? Looks good! Is that on the stock manifold? Thanks
when are you seeing full boost by on this turbo?
its laggy, im trying to find a way to get this thig spooled up faster. im seeing 14.6 psi around 5500 and i really want it a lot sooner.
thats a pretty decent sized turbo, how does the size compare to say a t04r or gt35?
im not sure, ive never had either of those turbos.
That is really laggy for a 67mm wheel.
Are you sure you don't have any exhaust leaks before the turbo or any boost leaks? Have you checked compression on the engine? |
