this might be a stupid question....
the only difference between the GT35R and GTX35R is the compressor wheel, correct? so the compressor cover, back plate, chra, turbine, turbine housing is all the same?
so, effectively, i could just get a 35R, and at a later point if i decided, a gtx wheel could simply be put in, and i would have a gtx35r?

Garrett wont sell just the wheel. I did get pricing on these as of yesterday when it was finalized. I won't post any pricing up but if interested PM me and I will get you a price.

Sean my question is similar to his in a way. You buy the GT35R and make some changes according to your specs and make it a GT3574R right?

If so, is it possible to make a GTX3574R?

Zero R 11-10-10 04:08 PM

Not possible. Garrett wont sell the comp wheel by itself.

how much is "A LOT"?

Jason 11-11-10 03:24 PM

These will be out in about 4 weeks. Pricing will probably be around $1900 for the GTX35R. We will also sell them without the turbine housing. Price on that will be around $1550.

We've got the smaller GTX3071R(s) shouldn't be long before we've got the GTX35R(s)....

So is the hotside on the gtx30 still to restrictive?

Zero R 11-30-10 04:10 PM

Not for 300whp ;)

KrisD1 11-30-10 04:23 PM

Oh man, don't know anymore, looking for about 350whp on a t3 manifold, stock ports and best suited to run at the nürburgring

Several ways to do that;

StageV 57Trim To4E with a T3 turbine housing, BB or journal

GT35R in a T3 turbine housing

StageV will respond a little faster, but gt35R will provide more power if you want it down the road...

I would not run the GT30 series on a 2 rotor.

KrisD1 11-30-10 04:38 PM

ok, thanks. Now I know what to ask Santa :-)
Have to keep up with my pall and his clk black edition so I think 350whp should do it.

Back pressure skyrockets in top end. I bodgied out maths. I'm working on 25psi EMP, 13psi IMP. 1.91 P1T/P2S for same frame size. Its very good for midrange. You struggle to make numbers like the big singles do, but you are still faster to some extent because of the broadness of your power band.

Go the garrett split pulse 1.06 T3 casting. You will do 350rwhp if everything is spot on.

Heard from a friend today that C.Dyson tested one of these turbos , said they were worth every cent, bulk HP increase ( claimed 80hp+ ) exact same setup as a GT just retuned.

Haven't confirmed this but sure there will be more info floating around soon.

RXtacy 01-07-11 09:58 AM

Anyone tried one on a rotary yet?

the_glass_man 04-21-11 06:06 AM

Anyone running these yet?

Started doing custom anti-surge housings as Garrett is now releasing just the carts instead of complete turbo less turbine housing...

Back in stock again, finally :icon_tup:
