Wonderful numbers. Curious if Dave has seen many cars with that hp at 20 psi?

Would be interesting to see your datalogit maps, post 'em if you like.

Congrats,

Vosko, I'm not nearly as bad as you in breaking the car. You need a powerglide!

The only problem I have with the run is that it's not the 'SAE CORRECTED' version. Normally depending on conditions the 'STD' version would read higher.
Who said it's not possible too make 500hp at 20 psi!:)

Dave said that the hp was flatlining above 7k rpm so we let off at 7500 rpm. He said it was the way the engine and turbo flowed. Maybe the turbo is running ot of steam that high up? I'm still on stock ignition with ngk 10.5 race plugs. An MSD digital 6 and blaster coils are comming soon. The gap in the dyno is where the dyno's sensor failed to read. Is there a way to make more power till 8k rpm of is this it for this turbo? I have the biggest 1.06 a/r. Also, before the dyno session I saw Dave input some numbers for temperature, barrometric pressure, etc, so I thought that took care of the correction?

Maybe the spikes in the run are why he wants the ignition upgrade ? either way he is well on his way to the magical 500rwhp.

I forgot to ask was it using pump gas and street set up (muffler, air filter etc)? cant wait for your next dyno session I bet
;)

This was done on c118 race fuel. Probably overkill, but my friend had some extra so I decided to use it. I could probably get away with some 105-110 I think. The filter was on the turbo, muffler installed, everything like street trim except the race gas. My resonated midpipe also blew out and is now rattling. Wonder if it was inhibiting flow at all.

Ihor, GREAT JOB:D Poweraxel, I live in Cali, so if you give me a chance to haul my lazy ass out of bed I'd love to join the thread... First, it's been my hope all along that this turbo was capable of making alot of power. I would much rather buy a proven setup than spend countless hours, and dollars trying to come up with one independently. It would be nice to see an SAE dyno sheet. I believe the temps are in the 30s, and low 40s in NJ today. On my Supra TT, one degree ambient is good for almost one HP on the dyno. I think Ihor's dyno clearly shows that the 35/40 can at least equal the T78 on the top end. A777, how much does your car weigh? Rice, or Chris can you tell us what kind of power A777 is making, if he posts his cars weight. A777 how much boost on your 10 sec runs? Does anyone know which GT40 wheel the 35/40 uses? Anyway, once again, great job, time for an upgraded ignition, and definitely a bigger pump for starters. Anyone know what the cosmo pump flows?Does anyone know where the 35/40 maxes out boost wise?Ihor, good luck, my friend, Best regards to all, Carl Byck:D :D :D

Very good numbers!

I would estimate A777s car weighs in the region of 2600lbs....

Carl,
i had to bust your balls! :)

see ya
Steve.

Dave had a 3 rotor make over 400 at 9 psi:)

It is eff. up to 29lbs.

;)

Marshall 12-28-02 04:18 PM

How can you measure its efficiency range in psi? If an engine/intake track flows very well, wouldn't you get lower boost than a more restrictive engine, but still be flowing more cfm?

Resource 12-28-02 04:57 PM

Ihor, which fuel pump are you using?

Silver Ninety Three 12-28-02 05:34 PM

cosmo pump, i dunno if i trust it for more boost i might get another one and double them up

Very nice Ihor!!!

Good to see some cool weather tuning has been done to your car and it isn't running as rich anymore...nice numbers...I hope to follow in your steps and provide backup dyno supporting numbers for the GT35/40. My powermeter is reading 470rwhp @ 17psi and 550rwhp @ 22psi. Need to get on a dyno and back those up.

80 rwhp from 5psi more :) Boy, would that be nice!

nocab72 12-28-02 06:14 PM

Ihor gained nearly 100rwhp from 5psi (10psi - 15psi on his previous dyno do), so 80 from 5psi at this level isn't far fetched...but, like I said, I need to get on a dyno and back the powermeter numbers up...

I hear you are getting Racelogic's Traction Control system. Please keep JIMLAB posted as to your evaluation of it. I'm sure others with high powered FDs are interested too. It works great for me, but I don't have a 450+rwhp FD.

what were the A/F #'s like?

yy4u: who are you asking?

Mine were mid to high 11's.

My GT3540 will be dynoed this coming week. 16 psi is all I will run due to the stock motor. Dave figures 410 RWHP. I will post the run when i get it.

Silver Ninety Three 12-28-02 08:44 PM

Stock motor should be able to take more boost, according to Ernie at least. My a/f ratios were also mid to upper 11's.

Silver Ninety Three 12-28-02 08:47 PM

Kyle, do you have an ignition upgrade? Mine seamed to be holding out on the dyno, but shortly after getting on the street I seam to have fouled out my plugs. Was getting ignition breakup even at 13 psi on the way home. I'm going to pull the plugs tomorrow and take a look. I did get one good shot at 20 psi though, and broke the tires loose in 2nd at 50 mph and then again in 3rd at 70+

I know my car went crazy once I upgraded my ignition :D be prepared for constant wheel spin in 3rd ;)

keep us posted.

I'm calling :bsflag: thats a photoshopped dyno chart and ihor doesn't even have a turbo fd...if that is even his real name:rolleyes:
