Thanks to everyone for the support!
The slip joint is a burns double slip and the turbo also has a brace on it. So I dont think that it will be a problem. We put it there for the header to have room to grow.

spiritrmazda 12-02-07 10:51 PM

Damn, the set up looks awesome. I wish I could get a ride in your car.

infinit1 12-05-07 07:52 PM

Maybe you can if I get a chance to goto a cars and coffee meet out your way when the car is done.
Believe it or not, it is getting really close. The big thing left after we get all the fab done is the body work.

KaiFD3S 12-06-07 02:30 PM

Me too, I want a ride..lol...

Can't wait to see it done Jon, I will be down there in March hopefully I get to see it then.

Mind if I ask where you got that good lookin' hood?
Are you going to round out the edges, or cover the opening with a grille?

spiritrmazda 12-08-07 06:05 PM

The more I see this, the more I want one.

infinit1 12-08-07 06:53 PM

Which hood are you talking about? the black car or the red one?
The one on the black car came from extreme dimensions.

turBRO240 12-08-07 08:42 PM

Where is the wastegate dump pipe going? any pics on that?

I want to know where is the safest place to route the wastegate dump pipe if its vented to atmosphere

infinit1 12-09-07 04:22 PM

Waste gate is going to dump under car to the ground near the tranny.

KaiFD3S 12-13-07 04:00 PM

Any update's Jon?

infinit1 12-14-07 02:43 PM

Look into RacingBrake 2pc rotors they flow way more air than AP, Brembo, Alcon's 2pc and in result run much cooler temps. Even the Works Mitsu Evo X cars for 08 will run RB in the world challenge series. Those guys have tested every 2pc out there and choose RB.

SENZA PARI 01-29-08 04:57 PM

what is the runner length on the exhaust mani, are they equal length? I know that 18-24 inches is ideal.

infinit1 01-30-08 07:12 PM

From what I remember it is somewhere around 24" and pretty close to equal length.

spiritrmazda 08-15-08 06:58 AM

I know this is an old post but how's everything going with the car? I was also wondering how much the turbo set up cost because the place I had at ripped me off and now I need to go for a new set up.

infinit1 08-18-08 03:01 PM

It is actually getting wired up right now and after that it is tuning and body work. If you need someone to give you some kind of pricing you can call the twins or goto their site.

Please do tell... :)

spiritrmazda 08-14-09 03:07 AM

infinit1, any updates. I've been dying to find out how your set up is running. I know the Twins Turbos guys are badasses, I've seen their twin turbo set up. They sure do things different from other fabricators.

I'm a little perplexed as to why you went through all the trouble fabricating these manifolds without a little research done first. Perhaps you just decided to be different? I'll clarify, the exhaust manifold, why not go with the tried true proven to spool quicker AND make more power fully divided manifold? Also, bends within 3" of the turbine entrance can hurt some of the dynamics within the turbine also.

~Mike................

Silly question here but couldn't they divide the merge pipe and negate the drawback of slower spool with an undivided manifold??
I really don't know so I'm asking this seriously, Who knows maybe it's a new idea.

r1outlaws 08-14-09 11:24 AM

How much for the old exhaust manifold

Slevin_FD 08-14-09 12:30 PM

If there is a more street friendly version of this available, and by street friendly. i mean maybe a full 4 in exhaust. so you can have some type of normal street exhaust ie. Greddy, Blitz and the like. I'm down for this.

This is not a kit and I dont know if they will ever make it into a kit. The car is on hold as I started a new Biz and have no time to work on the car. But just for those who didnt get to see this book(This
is from the book "Street rotary" page 144).

Slevin_FD 08-15-09 05:37 AM

I know what you mean about the car being on hold. My twin turbo project has been put on hold on and off again because of getting laid off, etc. Keep us posted when things are rolling again. Oh yeah, pictures looked great.

Congrats on it at least making some noise under it's own power! Can't wait to see some videos of it driving in anger.

love twins turbo stuff. Excellent builds as always!

Nice videos. I've been staring at Jack's set up (his car is collecting dust at RRR Motorsports) every time I'm there following up on the progress of my car. The guy has so many cars, a few weeks ago, he didn't even notice he still has a Porsche in his garage :). Wonder if he'll sell his set up :)

Jack's set up is very similar to mine. I dont know if he is planning on racing anymore. You should hit him up. Give the twins a call also they may be able to talk to jack for you. It would be awesome to see that set up getting some use.

Here's my long runner set up. I used the twins manifold as my inspiration. As you can see it's a bit different. Uses a completely divided set up and waste gates are set up further back but runner length is very similar =-) Hoping to match or at least get close to the same power band...with less over-all power that is haha. Looking for 450-480 MAX whp. GTX3582R Divided A/R 1.06. 4" straight through Exhaust, no cats/mufflers
