I went by Cris's shop of Friday. Got some pics of his Ride. Sorry about the quality, it's an old camera. The car looks absolutely EVIL in person.

Should be 8 pics.

Interesting...
Is there no intercooler or is that throttle body like thing a disguised water to air intercooler?

Nice cant wait to see some numbers...either dyno or some slips.

Uh Oh you're going to get in trouble, posting top secret pictures:eek: ;)

Actually, I asked, and he said it doesn't matter, that the pictures are not going to show the "REAL" secrets. I got his "ok" since he has been out of touch with the forum lately.

The rear has been gutted and cut out. It will soon be tubbed.

BTW, fot those who don't know, it is (or was) an 87 TII, which ran 9.20's with the interior, panels, doors, etc. Now the car has lost a disgusting amount of weight, and will have considerably more HP. If the tires can hold it, it will be one bad Mofo.

im4u 07-14-02 06:51 PM

damnit someone beat me to it.i had the same idea of making the manifold like the way it is.so since someone else has done it, how is the flow on that thing?what kind of throttle body did u use?how did u wire(or he)the throttle sensors together?i figured u mated the wires together?

$150FC 07-14-02 07:11 PM

Does this mean we can finally stop saying that all the stuff he does is "streetable" in some insane way of street-driving?
Since he's running alcohol/methane?
Heh.
Now he's not the fastest streetable FC around, haha.
...He's just faster than everybody else anyway, d'oh.

Btw, when we gonna get crispeed and soul assassin to drag each other? haha.

KraftDinner 07-14-02 07:17 PM

That would'nt be much of a race........

It 's not mine, it's Cris's. Iam responding because he's not on the forum for a little while. Now, the details are SECRET..;)

His street legal FC was running low 9's before. Now he is just moving on to another level.

I am sure Cris would *love* to meet Soul Assasin in person. But I agree with greg, it would not be much of a race.:D

Nice!

soul assassin 07-14-02 10:02 PM

hell no i would get my ass waxed! maybe one day i can "move" up another level. looks fucking sweet chris! running a bridge or PP or what? what kind of hp numbers you looking for?

KraftDinner 07-14-02 10:10 PM

Check this out for some info on his car: http://www.fullboost.com.au/cars/fea...rx7_chris.html

Just noticed, has all his engine specs along the left column

Yeah that's what I meant when I posted that. His old, old, setup? That couldn't have been more than 2 months ago. Anyway yeah, the new one will blow it away... I predict low 8's if not touching the 7.9's

Well, im pretty sure that he will be making more than 700rwhp with that. If he can get the car down to 2400 with the backhalf then he can run 8.5 - 8.3 :) Cant wait to see the fucker run:O

He removed the interior, the old Cosmo intake, and cut the rear out well over 6 months ago. The Intake is custom made as 95% of the car:D

KraftDinner 07-16-02 12:30 AM

He should have updated his sig then .. "untubbed" ;)

jspecracer7 07-16-02 05:47 AM

I think I counted 8 injectors total. 4 of them 1600cc...PLEASE tell me I'm wrong...that's SICK!!!!:D

peejay 07-16-02 06:42 AM

Methanol requires roughly twice as much fuel as gasoline for the same amount of air. (I know I'll be corrected on this - I know it's a little less than twice as much) So that's approximately like four 1600ccs on gasoline.

No, No, No... It doesn't have 4 injectors.

It has 8 x 1600 injectors.

No such thing as too much fuel in a FI enviroment.

amemiya 07-16-02 04:12 PM

whatch ya talken bout mon??

london 07-16-02 09:03 PM

hey chris

hey chris that new intake you just put on ,how much more hp extra does it give you and why did you switch to a single throttle body.

You cannot have too much fuel/volume. Obviously you can still run rich. Overkill is a good thing.

KraftDinner 07-16-02 10:57 PM

I see what you mean now.
(ie: no harm in having 8 1600cc injectors even though you might only need 1/2 that, as long as it's tuned to run at the correct air/fuel ratio)

I misunderstood it kind of.

Node 07-16-02 11:45 PM

good lord...that is sickening.
I want that engine to have my first born for late night snack!

I..I..I....it's too sexy to comment on.
Good job crispeed :D

Yeah, I counted 8, but couldn't tell what the other 4 were. I could identify the 1st 4 because I have the exact same injectors sitting in my car now...

twint78 07-17-02 09:53 PM

like i commented earlier under another name that i had the same idea for a manifold like that just havent had time.but i do have one question about it since someone else has done it now.does the straight flow effect the idle in any way?is there any method to mazdas madness when they made the manifold curved the way they did?cuz i was tthinkin about runnin that type of manifold on a daily setup.and a bunch of other goodies of course.

It's not straight. It is Cone/tapered.

twint78 07-17-02 10:49 PM

i know its coned.what i mean is is the air going straight down to the engine effect it in anyway versus the bend it has to make with the stock manifold?

machinehead 07-18-02 01:02 AM

Wasn't RXSteve just talking about this very thing a few weeks ago and getting ripped by everybody for wanting no intercooler?

SPOautos 07-18-02 04:42 PM

I wonder if that uim is just a cover over a top secret uim he made and doesnt want anyone to see??? Normally once you go thru the throttle body dont you want equal length to each port not just a big open area like that. Guess it doesnt really matter as much on a forced induction car though.

All I really have to say is that it looks pretty damn sick!!!

I like it - it looks like half of a tunnel ram!

By shortening the runner length, you shift the torque peak upwards. The plenum keeps the runners from starving for air.

Just because something is forced induction doesn't mean you can ignore the intake and exhaust manifold tuning... with an optimized setup you need less boost for the same HP (or more HP for same boost) because the engine is working more efficiently.

Unless he uses that as a "handle" - then no. I know everybody there by first name, so no "scorpion" that I know of.
