Bosch -044 fuel pump fuel sock
I finally found a website that stocks these fuel socks for the Bosch -044 fuel pump for those that run it intank.
I ordered two and received them 2-3 days later. Here it is: http://www.jayracing.com/index.php?m...products_id=62 JD |
awesome!!! but shit.... 50 bucks for a filter sock.
|
its worth it. i've been looking for one of these for ages. im glad someone actually came out with it.
|
Shit, was looking for something like that, but too late. :(
I went with an SX filter in the gas tank and external fuel pump. Oh well! -Ted |
Anyone just running this fuel pump by itself in-tank?

I am, but i have a janky 30micron screen wrapped around the bottom of the pump and clamped around the sides. I am always super paranoid about it and always keep it above 1/2 tank. The time has come to buy this filter sock, 50 bucks or not.

and i thought the thread was about this fp sucking...
how long does it last? should be changed? is this the same as the supra one? |

It has been enough for at least 500rwh with no FP drop. It is hot wired to battery voltage. JD |
In tank, with my own fuel sock, for over 500RWHP documented power. For over 8K miles over 3 years.

Does this Bosch 044 Fuel Pump have a built in chack valve or no?
|
nice to hear peoples numbers with this pump. I've heard all sorts of things but haven't seen anyone that has pushed the limmits with this turbo. Any one else have some numbers with this pump?

Are you asking about the pump or a turbo? The pump will support 70psi of pump outlet pressure. What else do you need to know? |
I'm sorry I meant to say pushed the limits with this fuel pump. Sorry, thats my brain fart moment of the day. I've only heard referances to this pumps abilities but haven't heard actual numbers. Reted says it's only marginally better (flows more) than a walbro 255. I'm just wondering how much horse power people have had with one of these fuel pumps as I have one in the mail right now to go with my half bridge, t70, race gas setup.

Ok I'm an external pump newb so if someone could help with my questions it would be great. I'm dropping in the fuel cell today and was wondering a few things.
1. does the tank need to be above the pump? 2. Is the check valve on the 044 that fitting that I will be removing to go with AN fittings? 3. Will I need something like this since I'll be taking the check valve off of it http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku thanks for any help yall can give guys. |

You will lose fuel pressure when the pump is turned off. I am guessing you are linking to a flapper check valve. I am against restriction in the fuel system do to personal issues. I did not follow the link. |
so as long as I'm below the lowest fuel point then I shouldn't need a check valve? If I can get away with not spending more money on the fuel system that would be great but if I have to then I will. I've got the 8 gallon tank, the hole, the pre filter, the filter and the -6an line all the way to the rails. Now I just need to know exactly what I need to keep the pump happy :) Thanks for the help so far.

nevermind....
