and for the 13009097049 with 66.11mm comp inducer, it seem to have similar efficiency for a 23psi and big street port 13b motor compare to 7008 and 7055.
with the ideal comp wheel trim that you mentioned, and a good wheel ratio too.
with the exception of comp/turbine avg area (how important is this relationship?)
i wonder if this is an even better turbo for this application?

13009097049
wheel ratio: 1.10
comp avg area / turbine avg area: 0.92
comp wheel trim: 52.27

So what everyone’s thoughts on my setup? 13b full Bridgeport I’m using an Borg Warner S369 SXE I’m planning on upping it up to 20psi. I believe it should do well.

For a bridgeport, you want EMAP to be significantly lower than MAP to deal with the overlap, so your S369SX-E is essentially a slightly upsized EFR9180 w/ 69mm inducer and a very nice surge line. Should be great, especially if you plan on running EWG right off the turbine housing.

Has anyone every tried fitting Howard's manifold on a RHD car ?

All the turblown stuff fits both.

MaD^94Rx7 04-12-18 11:28 PM

I know that, but I am genuiinly intrigued by Howard's manifold simplicity and straight runners.
Can anyone confirm please?

any updates????

sorry wrong topic

Turblown 11-06-18 08:54 PM

S363SXE cast long runner kit of ours ( 76mm turbine .91) in green( 14 psi) vs knightsports twins in red( 13 psi). Same setup, just turbo system swap.
2.5mm catback is holding this setup back on the top end, also a conservative tune at the moment until the map sensor gets upgraded etc.

Install and tune by ForceFed Racing in Canada.

Those are some really good numbers at 1 bar for the S363 6368; i think this could be the best setup for a daily-driving/weekend warrior at a cost effective price.

Was there ever an update with the new map sensor?? and any numbers on what it can do at the drag strip?? and or with FLEX FUEL E-85???

Hey Elliot,

My name is Steven, i have been discussing with Howard about my engine build and decided to go with a turbo, most likely an SXE362. I really like the idea of the EFR 8374 but i do not like how far to the right the surge line is for that compressor map, hence my decision for leaning towards the SXE362.

I have a quick question for you.
Do you have any experience with your cast EWG manifold fitting in an FB chassis?

You should check out my build to answer that better for yourself. Depends on if you're using FC Subframe w/ Turbo II Motor, or FC Subframe w/ REW, or FB Subframe w/ Turbo II, or FB Subframe w/ REW, etc. I can almost guarantee that the turblown stuff WILL fit.

Not wanting to comment on Turblown or Howard's thought process, so I'll leave it at that.

I have only confirmed the iwg manifold fitment on the FB chassis. As mentiomed the ewg will probably fit, just depends on the engine mount. Please note it will only fit an cosmo or RE( wont clear a turbo2 LIM).

Nice build RGHTBrainDesign! Its nice to see another modded FB. Is yours Tender Metallic Blue too?

So my build is a bit more different, i am using a Holley 6 port manifold with the Terminator 4 barrel TBI with the motor mounted to the stock FB subframe. I have a GSLSE so i am going to use that front cover to mount the motor into the car.

Thank you Turblown, I am particularly curious about the EFR 8374, leaning towards running an external wastegate. On the EFR 8374, do you know what the spool (boost threshold) and manifold back pressure difference is between the 0.92 IWG and 1.05 EWG turbine housing across the rev range?
I have seen some of your work where you welded a wastegate to the SXE turbine housing, can the same be performed for the EFR 8374 1.05 EWG turbine housing?

I do not know the exact difference between the .92 and 1.05 only, but I do know the difference( back to back ) between on iwg and ewg kit. This adds the variable of the manifolds( short vs long, and runner sizes).

There is a 600rpm difference favoring the iwg. This is mostly do to the manifold. Generally you only see 150rpm difference on this size turbine wheel from that size increase in AR.

I have not done enough EWG 8374 emap testing to have solid data on it. Most of our testing has been on the iwg. We have some more ewg testing coming soon with 8474.

Yes you can weld on the EFR turbine housings. Several AUS customers have added gates to our shorty cast with 1.05 housings.

For my Rx8 swap with cosmo intake, street port

The best turbo for 400 to 450@8500rpm is the s362sxe (76/68) with .91???
91 to 93 pump gas
daily drive

Red94fd 07-06-19 08:34 AM

The best budget turbo? Yes
Thats what i have, but with 1.0 ..

Rwhp??
spool rpm??

Red94fd 07-06-19 01:48 PM

I got 350 rwhp on dynodynamics @ 13psi,. Super hot day. Cant tell at what rpm was full boost, but i might had being before or about 4k rpms

Gamaliel31 07-16-19 08:53 AM

S362sxe 350@13 is 325 in old dyno I use. I'm limited19 to 20 psi. One pound of boost is approximately 7 to 8hp.
325@13, 6(psi) x 7hp = 42hp. 320hp + 42hp = 365to375 @ 19psi.

Turblown test with s363sxe 395(14)psi. 395-25
(olddyno)= 370(14) psi. 5x7hp = 35hp
370hp + 35hp =405hp(19) old dyno.

my best option would be the 363sxe. according to the results that I see here. Considering the type of old dyno that I use and 19psi limitation.
Someone who thinks different ??

What do you mean by "old dyno"? Usually 350 rwhp on dynodynamics dyno is about 390-400 on dynojet dyno.I think turblown uses dynojet dyno. Every dyno will read different though.
25whp on dyno dynamic is not 25whp on dyno jet.

Gamaliel31 07-16-19 07:09 PM

Old dyno 3,000pounds
