60-1 turbo??

Alright guys i have a 90 model t2 with basic mods done. IAm purchasing a 60-1 and safc neo along with bigger injectors, fuel pump, and a sard fpr. What else am i missing???? Any thoughts?

manveru 10-22-06 08:34 PM

just out of curiousity, have you already purchased the turbo kit or are you still looking? i have a 60-1 that I'll let go for cheap.

Redrotor 10-22-06 09:09 PM

How much for the turbo? any specs?

Turbo23 10-22-06 09:16 PM

what manifold, what wastegate? boost controller? I would recommend a standalone system instead of the piggyback. There is alot then just throwing on a larger turbo

re-rx7 10-22-06 10:27 PM

Well thats what ia hear to find out. Looking ata tial wastegate, hks manifold, precision 60-1. Boost controller prolly a profec b. Walbro fuel pump, injectors ????? not sure what size need some help!

FC3S.USD 10-23-06 04:22 PM

60-1 Turbo with lines
HKS Cast manifold
HKS 40 or 50mm wastegate
Exhaust
Fuel pump ( winebro should be fine )
1600 cc secondaries
550 primaries
or 550 and 1000
Frount mount intercooler
FPR
new stock fuel filter
new plug wires
new wires preferably 9s all around
and a standalone ( Haltech, power FC, Microtech etc )

Just some stuff of of my head .

BDC 10-23-06 04:59 PM

I highly recommend against the S-AFC. You won't be able to properly tune the engine unless you're using a standalone like what FC3S.USD has commented on.

Like everything else, all of this strictly depends upon what (realistic) power goals you've got for the car. Figure that out then the rest can fall into place with respect to what kind of hardware that needs to be purchased and used. It's all one system with many parts -- build it properly from the get-go.

Iam looking for high 200's maybe 300 nothin spectacular just a good street car. With safc i plan on running it pig rich until haltech or microtech. I was gonna try and keep the stock i/c but do i really need a turbo this large to make these ##'s?

Node 10-24-06 01:47 AM

an rtek 2.0 would probably work better than an s-afc.
i honestly dont like s-afc's at all, theyre hokey.

but save your pennies for a real standalone and dont blow up your motor by putting shit together w/out the supporting mods.
my friends bone stock jspec BT did 340rwhp@14psi and 398rwhp@19psi
this was w/ a haltech and 3" open exhaust and all the goodies, but just shows you that a 60-1 will make way more horsepower than what you're putting together can support.

re-rx7 10-24-06 04:50 PM

Greddy emanage????

tdazmansFD 10-25-06 10:06 AM

I don't think they're much more than an upgraded Piggy Back unit. You can find used PFC's on the board for around 6-700 bucks if you're on a budget. At a minimum this what you'll want to use.

re-rx7 10-25-06 10:44 AM

I've decided to spend the extra money and go with hks f-con. This is pretty good no??????

boostedzxtt 10-25-06 01:02 PM

that sucks that you can't tune it yourself though... you would have to take it to Jotech everytime you wanted to retune.

boostedzxtt 11-14-06 01:01 AM

well if this is the power range you're looking to get, I'd look into BNR upgrades.

I would try a Synapse wastegate instead of an HKS one and never heard of a winebro FP;)

Well i finally got everything ordered! We went with 60-1 with a .64 cold and 1.15 hot, hks 50mm w/g, front mount intercooler, greddy e-manage ultimate, walbro 255, 2 additional 550 cc injectors greddy throttle body elbow, custom i/c piping and mas piping Oh and my favorite a whole new paint job!

fastrotaries 11-30-06 10:41 PM

what ports are you going to be running? I used to have a 1.15 wiht a good street port. Not bad a little laggy, but good. I'm now running a .96 and like it waaay better.

Additional injectors were fashionable back in the Regan administration. There's no need to add that level of complexity to the car, just run bigger injectors.

Slammedblk7 12-01-06 06:19 AM

Man...For a few hundred more bucks (At most) you could have just gotten some 1300's or 1680 cc injectors and a PFC. :molepoke:
But thats cool! Congratulations though. You'll have fun with it I'm sure.
