500+ Rwhp

do you think this turbo is capable of puting 500 to the ground on my 7 http://store.yahoo.com/cheapturbo/garrettto4r.html

modrx7 03-08-05 05:14 PM

it can do it

allrotor93 03-08-05 05:23 PM

a/r too small for a rotary

jin 13B 03-08-05 05:56 PM

what size a/r would you suggest that would be better

Not Stock 03-08-05 10:27 PM

.81 or .84 ptrim might get it. .81 or .84 q will get it. The .70 with a qtrim might do it, but not sure. Problem with ptrim is I think they are all small shaft and may not
stand up to the load- not sure about this, ask around.

jin 13B 03-09-05 01:48 AM

sounds good I did some looking around and found some good info, I might go with .84 P trim, with a diferent turbo PT-67

TEZTnTUNE 03-09-05 02:13 AM

that turbo is basically a pt67. the a/r is not to small for a rotary. i think allrotor is confused. that turbo is well suited for the rotary.

TEZTnTUNE 03-09-05 02:15 AM

by the way that turbo will support WELL over 500whp on a rotary.

jin 13B 03-09-05 04:48 AM

but will it give me good top end and fast spool up I'm looking to have 15 psi at about 3500 rpm if possible

APEXL8T 03-09-05 06:59 AM

2 Attachment(s)
TO4E & Big KahunaTO4R(second pic)
AND GT40(1st pic) .
The TO4E was sized by Bell of Cartech for a 13b street port Kit...thats what kit I used to have. You can see the others are large enough.

i believe a .70 will choke on a p trim up top.

jdhuegel1 03-09-05 10:36 AM

My question is why do people ask what it takes to get 500+ hp? Do you just want dyno numbers? Are you tracking or dragging the car? Why 500+?

400HP stock twin FD's are in the 10's. And a 400 HP FD is just raunchy on the track.. Ask Damian..

If you want 500, get a Supra. It's easier and more reliable..

If 500rwhp is your goal, then that turbo is a bit small. It will spool fast and die fast up top. Not enough a/r. Plenty of people will tell you it will, but I guarantee none of them have a 500rwhp car.

I'm no expert, but I don't think the A/R is the problem in that case -- it's probably the P trim wheel. Just to clarify, that advertised .70 A/R is the intake side, not exhaust side. Just want to make sure you noticed that. The exhaust side should be available in a WIDE variety of configurations w/ much larger A/Rs.

TEZTnTUNE 03-09-05 12:25 PM

allrotor your confusing compressor housing a/r (.70) with the turbine housing a/r

TEZTnTUNE 03-09-05 12:34 PM

ok i guess ill have to prove my point.
http://www.teamfc3s.org/forum/showth...5&pagenumber=1

kabooski for florida. 479 whp 14psi......520whp 19-20psi also note the 400 plus ft lbs of torque ladies. that turbo he is using is the so called turbo that will not push 500whp: pt67,t4/to4r. he also runs a ported 13b with one of the smallest turbine husing a/r's u can get with the pt67.

TEZTnTUNE 03-09-05 12:39 PM

pt67: 67mm wheel, .70 comp a/r, 360 race bearing, tanged .81 a/r turbine housing, p trim

TEZTnTUNE 03-09-05 12:40 PM

this turbo depending on wheel and hotside a/r will support over 700whp

Sorry, don't believe he was pushing those numbers to that boost. Not saying the power was not achieved, just not that boost. I've been around too long and have seen every setup out there.

TEZTnTUNE 03-09-05 02:00 PM

thats not the point ernie. the point is that the pt67 will support well over 500 whp. she wont start singing till over 20psi of boost. like ive said before this turbo is designed for engines with airflow like 2.2 to 2.4 liter engines. i have a h22a with this same exact turbo at my shop pushing 411 to the wheels at 12psi. granted this engine is highly modifyed but it still shows u what this turbo can do with the right parts to augment it.

i thought they were saying the turbine housing was a .7...thats why i was saying that. sorry for the confusion

jin 13B 03-09-05 11:00 PM

well the reason for 500+ is just my goal, "If you want 500, get a Supra. It's easier and more reliable.. " the reason I dont get a supra is I don't like it, I'm a RX7 FD fan and nothing will change that but thank's for your sugestion. I whant dyno # and results at the track
