Supra Twin Turbo Fuel pump

has any one bought a new one recently ? 195130 1270
did denso remake them or change the part number that anyone know of ?
i bought a new one from Titanmotorsports just a few days ago for a whooping 200$ ( they are a big supra shop i believe ? with decent credibility )

i was under the impression that the PN ended with 1270 was the original oem TT pump. i did a quick search and see results of 2 different explanation.
one was saying the 1270 was first and then changed to 1020. the others are the other way around. also i thought they be a dark color.. dark army green? mine arrived silver.

hope i didnt buy a kyosan knock off from them.. id be pretty upset

I don't think I saved the box for the numbers, but FWIW I bought one from BANZAI last year. It looked like the one you have, box and packaging too.

Nippon Denso sells parts in the aftermarket under the Denso brand name. the Denso brand name parts get a different part number.

you can clearly see on the part you got, it has a 195130-1270 number right on it, and then the box should have a 951-0014 on it.

Same pump p/n as with the one I bought from Banzai, too.

I'd check your voltage drop with this pump, though. Just my .02

For OEM parts I always cross reference rockauto.com

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...fuel+pump,6256

They list the 9510014 p/n for $136

I know that at one point they were even cheaper through rockauto, going for less than $100. It’s interesting that eventhough its a toyota oem part, under the “detals” tab they list the rx-7 as well

the part superseded. Denso used to have an FD pump and the Supra pump, but now they just sell the Supra pump for both.

What you have is correct. Fuel pumps are an item that are so often copied it is safer to pay a little more from a reputable distributor than risk hurting a motor.

Speaking of the supra pump, how much power is it good for before it doesn't flow enough?

Since no one else chimed in...as I recall the two pumps (OEM and Supra) were identical. So yes, the OEM sock would in all likelihood fit. My "kit" however, also included a new sock.

I believe they are not exactly the same, although the motor can is identical in size and the socks do indeed interchange.

The OEM Mazda pump has a different part number, and draws less current (~1.2v difference in running voltage when in full speed mode). The Mazda pump p/n was 195130-0782 5U17, versus 195130-1270 for the Supra pump.

basically there are two types of socks, there are straight tab ones and offset ones.

offset like the Rx7 part, Denso #

952-0038

the straight type, like the supra

952-0006

we use amazon a lot, they mostly have pictures, and mostly the pictures are the actual part.

there was a thing the other day where we had 2 water pumps for the same car, same brand. one pump was $42 the other was $420. same picture.
it turned out that the $420 pump had the wrong picture. once we had the right picture it was clearly for a different car. a Porsche. so that explained the price difference

The socks are interchangeable, although they are different in shape. They are fine at the 400hp level when properly rewired with a relay. Above that I recommend a Walbro 450.

Ease of drop it and oem appearance I guess.

I need to switch fuel pumps in my slightly modded FD (downpipe and BNR stage 1 turbos - also going to get an Adaptech ECU). Trying to decide between the Walbro 255 and the Supra pump. Any input would be appreciated.

Also, I've been told that as long as I'm going to replace the pump, I should also replace the wiring going to the pump as the last section of wires is very light gauge. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks in advance for any constructive input.

Go with the Walbro. Get it from a quality vendor so you get a real part - Banzai Racing and IRP can get the real parts for you. Cheap ones on ebay are typically knock offs.

The Supra pump does OK, but the Walbro flows a lot more and is just as reliable. I've had a Walbro in my car for over 10 years now with zero problems.

^This. I was changing out the 25+ old original as preventive maintenance. Can’t argue that there might be an even better choice, but personally I wasn’t comfortable with anything but a straightforward R & R. And the Supra pump is still an improvement over OEM for my particular car.
